Dee Ford

(This post was last modified: 01-26-2014, 09:20 PM by Jungle Cat.)

Hi!

I realize this is a Dee Ford thread, but Caraun Reid had two sacks and did not need at least two non-calls on offsides to be good.

P.S. Did Gus kind of bend the Senior Bowl rules with his defensive fronts?

And everybody thought Geno Smith would be a top 10 pick. He fell to #39. So we actually might have a chance at this guy.

As Deion Sanders sometimes says, "Man, that ain't right. That ain't right, man".

I mean you had Dee Ford out in the slot. The north had no ability to vector a guy to cover. Audibles and motion are NOT allowed at the Senior Bowl. The QB is a sitting duck, with no way to vector and no way to motion into some sort of pick up of a speed rusher coming from way out there in the slot position.

Gus looks like a total turkey for showing no mercy at an all-star game, and Dee Ford deserves no respect for ill-gotten gain. Bradley didn't think one second about deliberately trying to hurt the north quarterback. That's low class.

I can count the number of elite NFL tackles that can pick up a speed rusher with that wide of a split on a single hand. Sure he was knuckle down, but the split Bradley instructed Dee Ford to set up in was way wide. Coupled with the upright linebacker flat against the line that jumped into the backfield at the snap as well, that's a five-man pass rush.

That's cheesy.

How can you be so stupid? A "low-class" coach is one who wants the quarterback to get hurt. And what do you mean by showing no mercy?

Also, there is no reason to say just because the quarterback can't call audibles, the game's MVP deserves no respect.

Bradley had to know Dee Ford would hammer Thomas rushing from the wide receiver slot. Ford knew the quarterback was a sitting duck. He knew the north could not vector. I also pointed out that a linebacker lined up at the end of the defensive line and actually penetrated into the backfield making it a five-man rush.

A quarterback on the college level may or may not even have a depth of understanding of Senior Bowl rules to know only the defenders with knuckles in the dirt are coming on the pass rush. Still, it doesn't matter since he has no ability to cover a split so wide the "defensive end" is way out in the wide receiver slot.

The refs should have whistled the play dead and warned Bradley not to do what he did.

In the NFL, quarterbacks have the ability to put a man in motion or call an audible shifting to the appropriate level of pass protection. The north quarterback did not.

Unless the NFL wants to destroy any future quarterback prospects before they ever see a snap in the NFL, they better evaluate what's fair. Fairness seems to be a lost cause and player safety at the Senior Bowl isn't a priority.

Kudos to any quarterback who tells Savage where he can stick his Senior Bowl from now on.

If we trade down, we can get him.   Right now, I'm liking him at around pick 15.
