Given that we have nothing at TE and Foles is known for needing a dominant TE, not to mention the fact that we spent a 4th round pick on RT Will Richardson last season, seems to be telling me that TE will be prioritized over OT. I also see Hockenson as the most complete TE to enter the draft in several years. I think all signs are pointing to us taking Hockenson, unless Gronk retires and the Pats find a way to trade up ahead of us. We show less advertisements to registered users. I think Coughlin is still old school enough to take a hard line on drafting a TE in the top ten. I could see him vetoing such a pick. It's not an uncommon philosophy - and if I had to pick a few NFL front office personalities that would adopt that stance, TC is near the top of the list. This notion that Hockenson's valued differently because he's such a great blocker is the kind of thing Coughlin would scoff at. I could hear him saying "A tight end that blocks really well? He'd better block really well, that's half his damn job!"

Lacks a smooth change of direction and I'd like to see him be a better route runner. That neck issue still worries me as well. I know he has been cleared, but neck injuries are serious. I also don't see WR as a huge need now. We should get a great TE in the draft and with the addition of Conley and Lee coming back, plus the fact that Foles is not known for being a deep ball passer, I believe the passing game should be fine. We have to stabilize the right side of the O-Line though. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I dunno I think Hockensons blocking vs 99% of college TEs who come out would make Coughlin a massive fan

One site I read described him as a "destroyer of worlds," when it comes to his blocking. They said he was far and away the best blocker in the TE class and I agree. This class has some pretty good blocking TE's too, so that's saying something.

He knows the value of a TE for a QB and the way it helped Foles in Philly with some good ones. Hockensons generational blocking, size, athleticism, and pass catching ability will be hard to pass up for Coughlin imo. He also had Shockey and he knows how that helped early on as well. I think he will believe he can get a good RT in the 2nd like he did with Cam. The difference between Hockenson and a TE in the 2nd I think will be a much bigger gap than say Taylor or Williams and a tackle in the 2nd. I'm strictly talking about draft philosophy here. I know he values a TE, I just wonder if he'll draft one that high. Shockey was drafted while Fassell was the coach in NYG btw. (15th overall by GM Ernie Accorsi) Shockey did have over 800 yds receiving that year though. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I hope he values the position enough to take a swing at Hockenson at 7, I guess I have more doubt he'll do it than lots of folks who are practically penciling in the pick.

Just pointing out he had nothing to do with drafting a TE at 15. Yeah I know he didnt draft him and he wasnt there when he was drafted. We shall see what happens soon enough. I think the pick will be Hockenson, Ford, or Taylor. I dont see it being any other player than them 3 I would add Dillard but he isnt good enough in run blocking for us to take him that high imo and Cam would have to move to RT. I guess it's a possibility but a slim one We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

A few things to keep in mind as we draft.......
Tampa Bay is switching to a 3-4 defense Arizona is switching back to a 3-4 defense Kansas City is switching to a 4-3 defense We show less advertisements to registered users. This is their first venture out of a 4-3 style in franchise history ain't it?
Buffalo just signed Ty Nnsekhe, so the Jawaan Taylor pick is a little questionable for me
