Quote:Then why did they let Boselli in ? Boselli wasn't elite at OLT for a long period of time???  We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
TMD is so outraged by this move that he has vowed to never set foot inside Everbank Field.

At least they didn't bust an Eagles and retire a mediocre QB's number. I'm happy with Mark being in the pride. He led this team through their most successful years ever, and he'll always be remembered as one of the key players to one of the most successful expansion teams this league has seen.
No issue with Brunell being up there. He was the face of the franchise for a successful era of Jaguars football.

Quote: The first and to date the only real QB in our teams history! Congratulations!David Garrard made absolute magic with the receivers he had on offense.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I never once recall any team switching their pass rush around because Brunell was left handed. Boselli handled the very best pass rushers of that era every single snap that he played, and HANDLED is the right word for what he did to them. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

you dont need to be elite to be in a ring of honor. a ton of teams around the league have players that werent elite in their HOF or rong of honor.

Quote:Speaking of which...When are we going to induct Jimmy Smith? We should do it right now while he's out of jail and still alive.
Heck, the way this team is going, we may see Leftwich and Garrard up there in a few years.

Reggie White Kevin Greene Bruce Smith would always start the game against Tony but would also go to the other side because that was Marks Blind Side and they knew most the time they were not getting by Tony. Look im not saying he wasnt a great lineman Im just saying you cant Judge his numbers and his dominance the same as other LT because his QB was left handed. I think Leon Searcy deserves alot of what Tony gets because he had Marks Blide side and as many ppl claim Mark didnt get sacked much and they say it was Tonys doing but Searcy was just as good. I think Tonys careere was cut short but what he has done to help promote the Jags and help the orginization out he should be up there, i was just disputing the Angry Puppys assertion that to be up there had to be elite for a long time.
Another Khan marketing gig. Need to get people to come to the stadium. Mark was a good QB, and was here in the good ol days. Comparing him at QB has Boselli is compared to linemen or Fred as RB, he isn't in their class. One can even argue Boselli didn't play long enough for the honor, although he was a cornerstone of the franchise. Mark was good, a great guy. Why not induct him, the spaces aren't going to filled anytime soon, but is he in the same class as Boselli and Taylor?

I agree with that...the Eagles are flat out [BLEEP] the liberal way that they retire numbers...I'm surprised they can even field a 53 man roster with the scarcity of available numbers left... However, the Jags are a bit ridiculous too - with the way they STILL keep 8, 71, 82 out of "rotation". All 3 of those numbers should be in use by now. Hell..., Michael Irvin was arguably a better player at his position than all 3 of those were at their positions, and won THREE SB's, and yet Dallas still has #88 in the rotation, which Dez Bryant uses currently....
I actually agree with TMD. /checks sky. K we good.
Regardless, happy for Mark. It is what it is. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! At least thats what michael irvin will tell you. ![]()

Quote:I guess I don't understand why this bothers you so much. Because its stupid. I could have understood a 5 year or so grace period to keep 8, 71, & 82 out of rotation, but its been like double that now and the numbers are still not in use. Those players were very good at the time, but none will be HOF'ers and no superbowls were won for Jax or even reached during that time, so its lame to continue to keep those numbers out of circulation. Set the bar higher like Dallas does. See my previous comments on #88/ Irvin/ Bryant |
