Hey, if Delores gets in so does Mark. Hell, she never even took a single snap.

Quote:Because its stupid. I could have understood a 5 year or so grace period to keep 8, 71, & 82 out of rotation, but its been like double that now and the numbers are still not in use. Those players were very good at the time, but none will be HOF'ers and no superbowls were won for Jax or even reached during that time, so its lame to continue to keep those numbers out of circulation. Set the bar higher by reissuing uniform numbers?
Quote:Then you probably need to go back and watch the games again. Reggie White Kevin Greene Bruce Smith would always start the game against Tony but would also go to the other side because that was Marks Blind Side and they knew most the time they were not getting by Tony. Look im not saying he wasnt a great lineman Im just saying you cant Judge his numbers and his dominance the same as other LT because his QB was left handed. I think Leon Searcy deserves alot of what Tony gets because he had Marks Blide side and as many ppl claim Mark didnt get sacked much and they say it was Tonys doing but Searcy was just as good. I think Tonys careere was cut short but what he has done to help promote the Jags and help the orginization out he should be up there, i was just disputing the Angry Puppys assertion that to be up there had to be elite for a long time. Reggie White was a LDE by trade, Greene played weakside linebacker, and Bruce Smith was famously destroyed by Tony Boselli in the Farewell to Jim Kelly game in January 1997. Yes, Searcy was absolutely important to this team, but Boselli was better. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:just because it was the most successful era in Jaguars history as of current, does not mean the era was all that successful.Compromising of principles? LOL - this is a "ring of honor", not the Supreme Court. You don't live here, do you? You have no idea how Brunell is thought of and how much he was (and to some extent still is) the face of the franchise during it's most successful period. This will be meet with overwhelming approval and I'm sure Khan doesn't really care what you think.

Quote:Compromising of principles? LOL - this is a "ring of honor", not the Supreme Court.Jimmy Smith should be in the ring before Brunell. Heck, I would put Rasheen in there before him. I just dont think he was an elite enough player. A qb is always the face of the franchise. That roster made Brunell elite.
Quote:I agree with TMD. The Pride of the Jaguars should be much more select than it is right now. Yep. The way its going now, I anticipate Alvis Whitted to be inducted before the 2017 season...
I am a little surprised, but glad to see it. He was an exciting player to watch on the field. He had the WRs and the RB. They could really make it go in the early years.
I wonder who got this done in the organization?
Hey TMD, Steve Bartkowski is in the Falcons Ring of Honor. Please be outraged.

Quote:I am convinced that you live to troll these forums... I have had at least five of the more intelligent regular board posters who have agreed with my premise in this very thread. That likely would not be the case if what I was saying was off-base/ trolling. So, I don't give a rats rear what you say.
Quote:Hey TMD, Steve Bartkowski is in the Falcons Ring of Honor. Please be outraged. Thats mighty good company we're keeping with then, eh?... I mean, if theres an NFL franchise you want to be emulating....it sure is the Falcons huh?... Go team!! ![]()

Quote:Thats mighty good company we're keeping with then, eh?... How about that Ravens Ring of Honor? Michael McCrary? http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/hist...honor.html Quote:just because it was the most successful era in Jaguars history as of current, does not mean the era was all that successful. Mark is a central figure in most of the franchise's magical moments, and an integral part of Jimmy Smith's and Keenan McCardell's success. Bottom line, the Jaguars would not have had the success of that era without Brunell. He has also done many good things in the community. He may not mean much to you up there in New Jersey, or wherever you live, but he is and was an icon in Jacksonville, even when you consider the criticism he received late in his days there. I don't usually play this card, but in this case you really had to be in Jacksonville during those days to get it. He made me proud to be a Jaguar fan.

Or the Dolphins? How do we compete with greats like Mark Duper and Richmond Webb?

Well thats another player that I don't believe is worthy of such an honor, but hey.....maybe I'm wrong with all this and my standards are too high... We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote: Or the Dolphins? How do we compete with greats like Mark Duper and Richmond Webb? Weren't Duper/ Clayton known for being one of the all-time great WR duos in NFL history?.... :ermm:
There's nothing wrong with wanting our ring of honor to be more selective. Brunell was good but he was never on Freddy T or Boselli's level. Once you start to admit players that were good but not "special" it sort of devalues the whole thing.
