Does watching Seattle excite you about what the Jags are building?

Quote:If Caldwell can find a pass rusher and a FS that will contribute as well or better than Marks did this season - this defense will start to look a lot more similar to Seattle's.  (an upgrade at OLB would help too)

I think our offense will find it's identity when we find a quarterback, primary RB, and #1 receiver.   I don't expect it to look much like Seattle's save for a handful of read-option plays sprinkled in.  Fisch seems do differ from Bevell in a number of ways and I expect his offense and playbook will too.

Yeah, Bevell is very heavily run-centric, although that probably has a lot to do with Carroll as much as Bevell. Fisch seems more creative and tries to use motion to get the Defense to bite. I am very interested to see if Fisch's Offense evolves over time while here in Jacksonville.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Quote:There was also an answer Crabtree gave a to a reporter a few days before the game when asked how he felt about facing the best CB in the NFL.

He said something like - "I don't know about best corner - but we are just getting ready for the Seahawks"

Right, it has been said that his brother is not being honest about what happened.

Then look at crabtrees comment... that was insulting?

Lets say Teddy goes #1 to Texans, Jake Matthews #2 to Rams, Clowney at 3 to the Jaguars or do you give up a fantastic player in hopes of getting another 1st round pick or 2nd by trading down knowing how much teams will want Clowney at that point?

Then use that extra pick to try to fix other key vital positions since the team has so many needs?

The present fortunes of Seattle does not affect how I feel about the Jaguars' coaching staff.

However, I am excited the coaches were able to do what they were able to do considering the roster is widely considered to be on the low end of the skill spectrum.  I am also excited to see what the next couple drafts will bring given the confidence I have in Caldwell.

Dew, we still have a long way until the draft so my thoughts could change before then.  As of today I'd prefer to trade back only if both Bridgewater and Clowney were off the board.  It would also depend on what sort of compensation we could pull for the 3rd overall pick.

Originally I said no because I think this team is still too far away from anything looking like Seattle.   However we do seem to be building in a similar direction and that excites me.  That excited me well before this Super Bowl game but this game further pushes me in that direction.  Seattle is building a powerhouse and they are playing the type of electric, hard hitting, solid football I love to watch. I'll take their style of play all day over Jughead and his much loved passing attack.

Quote:Not really. Not at all. Seattle is not winning or making any SB's if they play like that next week. The passing game was horrible for the Seahawks and that Saints D isn't all that tough.

Defensive games are like watching paint dry.

Uuhhh,,,

Seattle wins Superbowl.

Dominant Defense wins again.

Defense wins championships.

Ultra tough defense + capable offense with a very tough running game = Superbowl Championships.

It still holds true, no matter how much people want to say/believe it's all about a qb and passing league.

it helps to have a pass rush.    Both the giants and the hawks proved that.

TMD never loses, he has a reversible jersey for both teams.  He just flips it inside out whenever the team scores.

And the glue that holds them all together and makes that Secondary what it is..............................

Earl Thomas - 1st Round Pick, #14 Overall.

Those other 4 are just guys. The least talked about person in that Secondary (Thomas) is by far the best player on the entire team.

That comment isn't even worth dignifying with a response.
