Marcel has said he wouldn't so I see this has his final year.

Link? Because Marcel just restructured this season so he could stay here.

Thanks I must of missed that. I swear I read somewhere that he was not going to restructure.

Apparently he did. But we can save $20 million ish if we cut him after this year if his play declines.

Yeah, he has a huge number next year but only 2.5 of the 22.5 is dead money, the rest is base, roster bonus and a few other small incentives. They can rework his deal or let him go without too much effort next season if his play warrants it.

The way they restructured Dareus essentially means he got paid up front for 2019 and guarantees he goes into free agency in 2020. So he's likely to get paid in 2019 and 2020 as well, really a good deal for both sides.

Get real.

He has gotten better once he joined us.

The thing about it is..I don't care at all. This has nothing to do with his production. He could have 30 sacks this year and he still needs to be gone. He's not a Jaguar. He's a nice dude who loves playing football and has zero loyalty to our team. Pay OUR players first and he can go make the vet minimum for all I care. He's getting in the way.

Well he's already restructured once so it's possible he'd be willing to do it again. On the other hand, he could say "hey, I already agreed to it once, why should we do this again?"  I guess it depends on if it requires him to take less money or not. I'd definitely rather have him that not.

Get Campbell off my team. He's just eating cap space to pay our talented guys we drafted. Get him out and be done with it or risk losing some of them and have him be dead weight later on.

The wrongness...I just can't even.

The young guys on that line look up to him. He fricking produces on the field. He is showing those kids how to be a pro, so that in 2-3 years, we WILL be ready for this inevitability. Remember when we had nothing but young guys, and no talent around them, how piss poor we were from week to week, and NOBODY improved?

I don't see what the rush is to get rid of a guy that is as valuable as Campbell.

I've been a lurker for ages, and this may be the most boneheaded post I've read. Keep digging, bud, you may strike oil eventually.
