Doug just put on a clinic of what it’s like to be carried past an 0-3 team

We lost to Houston by an inch. Team looks to have its grit and feisty nature back. What do you think Rams fans are saying about their defense after giving up 55 points to the Bucs? Crazy stuff happens, the NFL is a week to week league it isn't college. I feel the same way as others do when people post about how X player or X unit didn't dominate so they must be useless along with all of the coaching staff. I've been on Leonard Fournette's case for 4 weeks. Four weeks of horrible stats and his demeanor just made me a non believer. Then out of the blue when we needed it most he goes for 225 yards by far the most of any running back for the week in the league. Different guys step up at different times. Each game is a story and everyone plays their part. Some of the criticism may be warranted and it's fun to try and dissect what's going on but the daily bashing on whoever is usually superficial. If you want to watch a team win 60-3 go watch college. Take the "bad" with the "good" or don't watch.

Regarding the part in bold, that's my biggest thing.

For the team to start 0-2, having lost our starting QB, and have our best player say he wants to be traded, and to be able to hold this team together and get a road win after being down by 17-3, I think Marrone has done a great job.

Another game where it takes us an entire half to score only 6 points. That’s two games this season that happened. Hell the other two it took us three quarters to score 6. Two and a half games out of  four where we are averaging less than three points per quarter.

Is our scoring offense so anemic that it needs 10 and a half minutes to score from behind on a single drive? Is JDR back at the helm? Run run pass from the very first drive to the series that the Minchews magic TD heard round the world. He managed to overcome both the opponents and  the cursed predictable ultra conservative mediocre scheme on offense. Carrying this HC!

We let 10 3rd downs go unconverted? We only converted four? We were two for six in the red zone? We need to flip the script, we open up the half with four three and outs, granted one was a four and out, but is there a difference in this run run pass on obvious 3rd down offense? A tell tell sign of poor coaching are all the stupid false start penalties by the offensive line, the last unit that ought to be having issues with an Oline coach at the HC position.

Given the 250+ yards rushing, I think it’s safe to say the Oline is not the issue. What line can withstand such a predictable mediocre scheme? This team was in the AFC championship game last year!  It has tremendous talent, talent whose potential is being stunted by this cowardly style approach? Is it a higher percentage play to throw it out of your end zone on first or third.

You have your QB crawling on his knees the first play of the game? Who defers at mile high? Defense needs a couple drives to adjust, the offense has an opportunity to get the momentum rolling in our favor if we but took an aggressive faith building approach. It’s as if the HC is sending the signal that he is not bought in to the Minshew legend, putting the breaks on an offenses potential with an antiquated scheme.

It disgusts me. Beyond belief to see this team being led by a knuckle head.

Ha, the trolling is confirmed.  That 10 and a half minute drive was the best thing that happened in the game, given the spotty defensive play by the Jags D on Sunday. Had they come down the field and scored in way less time, you give the ball back to Flacco and co and risk setting up a shoot out.  Jags D was not up to the task at the point.  It could have easily gone away from them. That drive protected our D, demoralized their D, deflated their fans and curbed their enthusiasm to fuel what looked to be a potential blow out, and furnished our O with much needed confidence that the game was now ON.  Nobody complains about a lengthy clock-consuming, defensive-draining, run-centric, successful 3rd down conversions drive...that ended up with a jaw dropping TD.
Success is a journey, not a destination.  Go all out Mighty Jaguars.

Only the people that think that a run oriented offense is "obsolete" in "today's NFL".  Kids like bch seem to think that you have to pass deep and often in order to be successful.  It's a product of two things.

1.  People that watch college football that think it translates over to the NFL.

2.  Kids "living in their parent's basement" that play Madden all day.

Me personally, give me 10 minute drives by the offense all game long, especially when playing a rookie QB and against a decent offense and a good defense.

The Broncos aren't as bad as their record.  They are a very good team.  There isn't a whole lot of difference at this point of the season between a 4-0 team and a 0-4 team.  These are the best players in the world playing at the highest level.

This next week our team faces a team that is also 2-2.  They lost to the Rams by a field goal, lost to the Bucs by 4 points, beat the Cardinals and the Texans (who we lost to).  The game isn't exactly going to be a "give me" even with their starting QB out of the game.  Many people might have thought that regarding our team when facing a nemesis that always seems to "have our number" and a desperate team on the road with us starting a rookie 6th round pick at QB.

The term "any given Sunday" really does mean something.  Nobody predicted that the Browns would beat the Ravens by 2 scores.

Run run “pass magic”;without the magic that anemic drive ends in a FG and a loss. Same loss we saw in the Texan game when Doug took the magic out of the last play. Face it without the magic this team is 0-4! Doug is being carried by a team that was in the AFC championship game last year.

This is an ultra conservative scheme that has Fournette ranked 8th in the league for facing a box stacked with 8 players or more. Doug is not only stunting Minshews growth, with this play calling, but it could be argued he is hurting Minshew, how many sacks last week from a sackless 0-4 team prior to the game? Now Minshew has knee problem because of this outrageously predictable and ultra conservative scheme?

Doug is a dinosaur, his antiquated obsolete play calling antics that need to be saved by what appears to be a GOAT in the making, need to be dealt with. I want to see 12 deep passing plays this game on 1st and 2nd down. Time for us break our opponents down to dime and nickel packages. Utilize the strength of the deep passing game to both open up the running game even further and protect Minshew.

Minshew has a 141 QB rating on passes for ten yards or more. How in the hell do you put the breaks on that to two plays a game on 1st & 2nd down in his first two starts. Only reason our run game got unleashed was because we increased those numbers by 2/3s in Denver. We need to double that number this week.

On the Oline, it is an awesome unit. I love these guys, Doug’s scheme has put the weight of the world on them. Doug is a drunk, pickled brain. No faith, has Minshew crawling on the first play of the game out of his end zone? Decides that the defense going out there at Mile High without Ramsey gave us our best shot at building momentum? Despite the Florida team needing a few drives to get acclimated to the thin air? That was such a looser call! The disgust of that call was followed up by an offensive script the first half that the DC may as well have wrote up and handed to Doug.

Doug stinks yeah yeah, Doug stinks yeah yeah... sing it, you know you want to!

Let’s get this straight, Fournette had that game because the increased the deep passing game by 2/3rds from the two previous games Minshew started in the first half.  The 2/3rds increase on 1st and 2nd down opened up the running game, as Denver had to adjust in the second half to the coaches need to air it out even more being so far behind. Giving respect to Minshew, respect that the coaches seem to miserably fail at in regards to letting Minshew be all he can be.

Time for the coaches to start respecting Minshew, believing. He has a 141 passer rating with passes of ten yards or more! Believe in the magic. Enough of the predictable run run pass crap or waiting till 3rd down to let him light it up deep. Anyone asking if he can do it, clearly has not been paying attention. He has done it! Believe!

Doug’s inability to trust the GOAT, is holding this team back, putting the breaks on its potential, while at the same time relying on the magic to pull us through. I hear the OC claiming he is trusting Minshew more and more. This is a confession, an declaration of their lack of faith because he’s a rookie that cost us the Texan game by taking the magic that had carried this team during that game, out of the equation. Minshew led all the RBs combined in rushing and you hand it off to Fournette out of the shotgun two yards further back into the teeth of the defense? Oh ye of little faith....

Why did the coach put a defense out ahead of the offense with Ramsey out at Mile High, given the fact units need a couple drives to get dialed in? You made Minshew Crawl on his knees on the first play? And throw on a run run pass series his first drive? The same run run series he had on the ten minute anemic drive from behind that Minshew managed to overcome by channeling his magic to see us through. Oh ye of little faith

We lose without that magic. Coaches need to start trusting, believing in Minshew. Their lack of faith is costing us games. Forcing teams to stack the box to the point Fournette is ranked 8th of players facing eight or more guys in the box. Our offensive line has been carrying the weight of the world because of the lack of faith. BELIEVE

Say whatever....that 10-1/2 minute drive was a thing of beauty....keeping an opponent's defense on the game, down after down wears them out.
Then when flako was held to a three and out....well those stands got really really quiet.

This was not going to be an easy win in mile high Stadium against the team that had its back against the wall. Losing this game pretty much ended their season. This was going to be a hard-fought win and I give the coaching staff and players job well done go jags.

Absofreakinglutely right!

The best thing about that drive was that the altitude is known for taking the breath away from visiting teams unaccustomed to it.

But by the end of the game, it was the Denver defense that was gassed, in large part because of that drive.
