If you're going to argue that Jay Gruden is the only NFL head coach who smokes pot and hits on younger women, save yourself some breath and don't. We have "proof" that he's robbing cradles and smokin' the reefer because he's in the middle of a perfect storm with a QB of the immediate future that he didn't want on draft day and won't play now, and a Redskins organization that's looking for a way to get rid of him. This is an expedient, clean way for the Redskins to get rid of him and replace him with an assistant coach who'll commit to playing Haskins. That's all there is to it. I don't give two [BLEEP] about his smoking pot, but if he's hitting on other women while married...yeah, that's sleazy. If he's committing adultery, that's a few steps beyond sleazy, but it's really none of yours or my business, and again, if you think he's the only one, you're nuts.

Jay Gruden will get fired sometime within the next couple of months, and he'll turn up in Vegas as Jon Gruden's offensive coordinator and/or QB coach next season. Just another scumbag who makes more in a year than you or I will make in ten.

The law is the law until it's not, the idea that people can just ignore the law if they dont like it is absurd. As I said, he is shown to be immoral and lackinging integrity as is anyone else who engages in such behavior.

But for that circumstance, this video of Gruden smoking something implied (but never confirmed) to be marijuana and necking up to a pretty young thing would never see the light of day.

It's perfectly consistent to say "I don't care if you smoke, in fact I think the law should be changed so that you can if you want to as it should be none of the government's business" and "You should not smoke because it's illegal." So long as it's the law then it's the law. It's none of my business if he wants to do it, but speaking as though it is my business, as in this thread, my position is that he's a high profile person engaging in poor behavior and I would not blame the Redskins for firing him over it. This isn't the political forum, it's a football one, and the law and the NFL are both firmly clear about drug use. I find it interesting that you're taking so much effort to white knight a sleazeball that neither of us really give a rip about, just because I said that he's a sleazeball.

 Lesson of the day : Morality has nothing to do with legality. There have been and still are very immoral laws on the books here and across the globe.

 Monogamy I understand, but this legality of a plant and that determining if you use or not is kinda funny. There’s far too many happy little boot lickers these days. Unjust laws deserve to be broken. Did you know the average working us citizen commits 3 felonies a day, unknowingly? Should we round them all up, chief? Or is it more likely we have way too many laws for dumb stuff, like weed?

No, I wouldn't. Yes, I agree the law should be changed and yes, I agree we have too many laws. I never equated the law with morality, I equated the law with ethics. He's immoral for running around on his wife,  he's unethical for not obeying the law.

As you hinted at, a new law would not have to be created in order to legalize marijuana. We would only need to modify the Controlled Substance Act. Under the CSA, marijuana is a Schedule I controlled substance.

That does not necessarily mean that potential employers would stop testing for it.
