This is an expedient, clean way for the Redskins to get rid of him and replace him with an assistant coach who'll commit to playing Haskins. That's all there is to it. Do you realize how idiotic that idea is? You guys are so wrapped up in your advocation of drug use that you can't differentiate something that is illegal from something that is not. If the use is made legal I have no objection, until then it's against the law and you should conform. I will say that this discussion certainly sheds some light on your takes in other threads, you must've been good and baked making some of those comments. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

I remember you saying that all drugs should be legal, and it was everyone's own problem of their life hit the toilet over them. Perhaps, or perhaps you would give as few craps as you usually do about drug use if likely adultery (or at least an effort at it) weren't involved. Personally, I don't care. The video is out there because he won't play Dwayne Haskins and didn't want him in the first place, so the Redskins are looking for a reason to fire him. But for that circumstance, this video of Gruden smoking something implied (but never confirmed) to be marijuana and necking up to a pretty young thing would never see the light of day. I could draw some parallels here between Jay Gruden, who you're piling on, and someone else out there who's being defended despite piles of similarly sketchy evidence and a history of doing the things you're all over Jay Gruden for. But [BLEEP] the political forum, I just thought I'd point out how comically hypocritical you're being here. You're getting your panties in a twist about a coach who has approximately 12 hours left as a head coach in the NFL, and completely eschewing your usual response about how it's not the government's business if you, I or Jay Gruden want to ruin our lives with drugs. The only difference is that there's video of Jay Gruden sitting on a sidewalk getting a know a much younger woman that is definitely not his wife. I don't care, and I don't get why you care so much. If he wants to ruin his life and end up working at Division III Bumfart Technical Community College of Kansas as the assistant WR coach to pay for the divorce settlement, that's his problem.

It's perfectly consistent to say "I don't care if you smoke, in fact I think the law should be changed so that you can if you want to as it should be none of the government's business" and "You should not smoke because it's illegal." So long as it's the law then it's the law. It's none of my business if he wants to do it, but speaking as though it is my business, as in this thread, my position is that he's a high profile person engaging in poor behavior and I would not blame the Redskins for firing him over it. This isn't the political forum, it's a football one, and the law and the NFL are both firmly clear about drug use. I find it interesting that you're taking so much effort to white knight a sleazeball that neither of us really give a rip about, just because I said that he's a sleazeball. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Because it’s legal, would you be ok owning another human being? After all it is legal, so it’s moral right? Lesson of the day : Morality has nothing to do with legality. There have been and still are very immoral laws on the books here and across the globe. Monogamy I understand, but this legality of a plant and that determining if you use or not is kinda funny. There’s far too many happy little boot lickers these days. Unjust laws deserve to be broken. Did you know the average working us citizen commits 3 felonies a day, unknowingly? Should we round them all up, chief? Or is it more likely we have way too many laws for dumb stuff, like weed? I’m cool with Jay as far as the weed, he’s not hurting anyone. I’m a loyal guy so cheating is a huge No-no tho. Scum bag in that regard.

So cute how the stoners come out to compare murder and their addiction.

There, fixed it. We now resume our regularly scheduled program, already in progress... "Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something." --Plato

As you hinted at, a new law would not have to be created in order to legalize marijuana. We would only need to modify the Controlled Substance Act. Under the CSA, marijuana is a Schedule I controlled substance.
That does not necessarily mean that potential employers would stop testing for it. If I were in his position, I'd use my fame to get as many 20 something year old women as I could. Thought that was a requirement for NFL front offices and head coaches...
