To the second bolded, yes, Minshew absolutely CAN develop from the sidelines. It's a tried and true method for young QB development. The kid has created some bad habits over the past two weeks and if those continue then the sideline may be the best place for him to sort it out. 

Regardless - Minshew's play vs the jets and tinhorns gives him a chance to keep the reins.  If he plays like he has the past two weeks, I think he probably returns to the bench and his backup role in week 11. I think it's great that we have the luxury of another good QB to put out there while the rookie refocuses his game  - if that's how it plays out.

Minshew can learn a lot from the sidelines watching an experienced veteran actually.
He can then sit with Foles and discuss what he saw and why he did what he did while the D is on the field.

Usually... there's nothing like live action but to act like Minshew is already better than Foles at seeing the field and decision making is silly.

Either way... the people in charge are gonna make the decision regardless of what we all think. Hopefully they make the right one.
Remember... Doug and co need to win now (That could be starting Foles, if Minshew is just managing games), not plan for the future (developing Minshew)

Alex Smith, though to be fair, his benching was due to injury and a QB that had his flash in a pan moment.
Though I'd argue he played better than ever in KC and was off to a really good start as Washington's guy

This is a weird [BLEEP] situation for this team to be in. My guess would be that they would more than likely wait until after the bye week before making a switch. And it will take two horrible games from Minshew IMHO for them to consider putting Foles back into the line-up. Hoping the kid kills the Jets and tinhorns going into the bye week though.

Need to see him take over a game where he's just connecting on everything and scoring inside the red zone with ease. Maybe a 3+ TD day with 250+ this week and then in London he goes off for 4+ and 300+. I can dream damn it!

This.  Why does it matter if the starter is making half a mil and the back up is making 18-20 mil?  Ride or die with Minshew until he becomes the REASON the team starts losing. Right now, he ISN'T.

Heck no on trading Foles.  The guy proved he can come off the bench and perform on the biggest of stages.  Good thing right now is they get to keep working with Minshew and finding better game plans.  I believe he will keep improving and there is no harm if he continues from the bench or the field.  He seems to have the right mindset for long term success either way. Honestly Foles seems like a stand up guy as well.  This is a dream scenario for a front office.

Especially with an offense that was designed around him through an entire offseason.

Minshew has kept this team afloat with some great play, but I think Foles takes this offense a notch higher for THIS YEAR. 3rd down and Red Zone efficiency has to be improved greatly for this team to contend for the division or wild card.

It is an interesting predicament to be in. Minshew is the long term answer. But for this year, I think Foles can make a larger impact with his experience for that playoff push.
