I would expect you to "cherry pick" 14 out of 17 of today's mocks have Manziel in the top 5........by your account, I'm sure they're all clueless
Quote:http://walterfootball.com/draftdata.phpWho even said that they were clueless???? I was just providing perspective Quote:Looking at those rankings, it seems to me that Norris is a Teddy Bear homer. Honestly, I don't know if being compared to Russell Wilson is a compliment. Anyone can play QB for the Seahawks and they would still be Super Bowl Champs. Even if they ran it every play or took a knee every down in the Super Bowl they still would have won. Russell Wilson gets carried by his team and gets too much credit for being a glorified game manager. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Anyone can play QB for the Seahawks and they would still be Super Bowl Champs. Even if they ran it every play or took a knee every down in the Super Bowl they still would have won. Russell Wilson gets carried by his team and gets too much credit for being a glorified game manager.Every time Wilson has the ball in his hands he makes things happen. Its easy to call him a game manager when you don't know whats going on. You have the top ranked defense and Beastmode toting the rock. I don't care if you have Aaron Rodgers as qb, as a coach you are playing it close to the vest. Ball control, convert on key third downs and keep the clock moving. All of which Wilson does very well... Also a taller Wilson would be absolutely lethal. What hurts Wilson is his height, when you get penetration up the middle, you take away his throwing lanes and force him to roll out. Bridgewater is tall enough to see those throwing lanes on top of the fact he is more polished than Wilson coming out of school...Bridgewater can do everything Wilson can do and more
Well - I broke down and watched some Manziel cut-ups. (finally) I really want to like the guy, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself that he'll be able to pull off half of that stuff in the pros.
In his defense - it seems he was allowed to freely play his style of improvisational offense by his coaches quite a bit - and he may be coachable to play more conventionally when necessary. He may even be good at it. Maybe. That maybe is a big deal though - especially with all the Gabbert induced QB fear in Jacksonville. My gut tells me to steer clear. He sure would be fun to watch on Sundays if the right coach finds a way to make his skill set translate to the pros.
USA Today's post-Super Bowl's mock draft (see Jadeveon Clowney thread) has Manziel going #1 to the Texans. If that would be the case, then we would have a shot at either Bridgewater or Clowney without trading up. Personally, I would rather see someone outside our division get Manziel. He'd be a nightmare to play against.

Quote:Defenses will be licking their chops when they play Manziel... People thought Vick got injured a lot, just wait for Manziel.
As I've said before, from scouting him eextensively, he has a ton of upside, possibly top 5 imo. However if his skill set doesn't translate, he will bust quickly. Teddy is safer, not as much upside. If Caldwell likes him and thinks he translates, grab him quick. If not, stay far far away.

Like what? scrambling around like a chicken with your head cut off before you get decapitated steve young had more "upside" than joe montana who was the better qb though? Quote:It's pictures like this that scare me about JFF. Yikes.Im not worried about the size so much as his play on the field concerning his size. He runs around like fly that will eventually get swatted
His running habits may be concerning, but there's no doubt he's one of the best playmakers in the draft.
