If Clowney and Bridgewater Are Both There at #3........
|
With the latest reports of the Texans interest in Bortles and Manzieil, it would be possible that the Texans take Bortles and Cleveland trades up to grab Manziel. In this scenario, who would take? Bridgewater? Clowney? Watkins? Mack? Trade back for an extra 2nd and 4th?

If they think teddy is a franchise QB, him. If they don't, Clowney, if his intangibles check out. If neither of those, trade back or select Mack or possibly Barr.

If Dave thinks Teddy is a franchise QB prospect then he will be the pick, obviously. It's not a contest in that case, Clowney could be the guaranteed second coming of Reggie White, but if Dave thinks Teddy can be a legit franchise QB you take him every time.
I can't say, i don't have the necessary info. If i had to RIGHT NOW... probably Clowney.
Simply because the negative impact on your franchise in the eventof a bust is much wworse with QBs.

It's a tough call. Do you want to build Seattle or do you want to build like Atlanta?
I really want Clowney, but I wouldn't be upset with Bridgewater or even Manziel. EDIT: As the GM I'm picking Clowney. I have to.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
If I'm the GM, I take Bridgewater. Clowney is a great talent. But I think it'll be easier to improve the pass rush in the second round and beyond, than it will be to be upgrade the passing attack. Dee Ford / Scott Crichton / Various others available.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Tough call....real tough call but if I were GM and the draft was today.......I go Clowney

Well, I have graded Teddy to be a very solid franchise QB prospect...so him over Clowney is a no brainer.

It better be a Hall of Fame QB.

He then goes on to say he grades Bridgewater out as a "solid franchise QB prospect". ....Matt Ryan? Jay Cutler? Tony Romo? You pass up the next coming of Reggie White for a solid franchise QB....? Okay.
Teddy. Not a difficult decision for me.
I just don't think Clowney is going to be the best defensive end of all time. Saying he is the next reggie white isn't fair to expect or fair to clowney

Clowney, always take B.A.P , besides i think someone will trade up to get him if Houston passes on him, But i would not be mad with Teddy either.

After wringing my hands and thinking sorta' -kinda' hard about it for 2 minutes...... I have no idea. ... but I'd probably go with Bridgewater because I'm tired of chenbert.
I would take Bridgewater based on what I've read and seen. The questions on Clowney are more concerning to me than some of the questions on Bridgewater. And though we definitely don't know for sure how they'll translate their skills to the NFL, there has already been evidence of Clowney's concerns while at SC, with TB not much. Yes Clowney did have some impact but still underwhelmed for one reason or another.
A QB is more of a risk to the franchise and to a GM, but if you hit on that guy and he turns out to be that guy, it's much more rewarding than a Julius Peppers/Mario Williams or whoever you have... If they actually draft Clowney though, I wouldn't be mad whatsoever. But with the very limited knowledge that I have, and if you gave me a chance to choose, it would be Teddy.
