Good read. However sad it may be.

Good article but it pretty much confirms everything we know already which is we are a victim of egos. Egos of the players and TC.

Hope springs eternal. The Minshew era is about to go in overdrive.

Culture change and a clean sweep is so needed right now from top to bottom. Too bad it’s going to have to wait until next year.

I don’t think we need a clean sweep. I really don’t. The culture change will be provided by Minshew.

Look, let’s not fool ourselves. Jacksonville has always carried an inferiority complex because we didn’t want to be seen as what we are; a Deep South red necky city. Minshew personifies that but presents it in a positive and well-mannered way. He is our guy, and everyone here and everywhere else like him. He is our culture change that the city and team can get behind.

Just wait and see.

Big ego players arent nearly as much of a problem when the team is winning. But once things go south, it becomes a huge problem.

So like we all thought, bad front office. Releasing players that should not have, forcing players to retire and not knowing how to control the locker room. Its liable to happen again if we dont get rid of the front office.

The big problem was they drafted fournette. If they had drafted Mahomes right now everything would be hunky dory and the winning would have had everyone feeling fine.

So Prisco confirmed that TC was responsible for bypassing Watson and Mahomes for Fournette.

Hmmm...

That's certainly not what I got out of it.  The part of the front office that players had issues with is gone.  There were also players with egos issues.  One of them is gone.

Just imagine if he got his way and he was able to draft Enis instead of Freddy T...

An ugly thought.

Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make.

I so want you to be right.

Minshew becoming a Jacksonville god would go a long way to making up for the misery we've had to endure.

I mean we always knew that the Fournette pick had TC's fingerprints all over it.

It doesn't answer the question of whether Caldwell would have actually taken one of the QBs if TC wasn't there though.

FWIW, Dilla confirmed a few months ago that Caldwell wanted McCaffrey or a trade back for Mahomes but Coughlin overruled him for Fournette.

Sure, but somehow the Jaguars took probably the worst guy taken out of the next ten picks. Any of the next ten guys taken would have been better than fournette. Maybe Caldwell wouldn't have been ready to give up on Bortles yet, but I doubt he flushes a top five pick on a slow footed running back if it were all up to him.

Do you have a link to that? I just had a quick search but couldn't find anything. Would be genuinely interested to read it.

Tbh I know Dilla usually has his finger on the pulse but I'm not sure if he is actually in a position to 100% confirm something of that sort.

With hindsight, imagine this team with either of those two. I think Dave is good. Coughlin set us back, and I'm on the fence with Marrone. There has to be something keeping Yannick so discontent, though.

Dave is not good. Dave set this team back. That started back in 2013. That's why Coughlin was brought here to begin with. Dave couldn't get it done.

They, any by they I mean Khan and whoever else makes management decisions in that building, they should have cleaned house at the end of the season.

Now we all have to hope like hell that Caldwell doesn't yet again [BLEEP] up these draft choices. He has a lot of room for error. And they still have the potential of adding more picks by trading away Ngakoue and possibly Campbell at this point.

Why should this S.O.B get yet ANOTHER opportunity to rebuild this team? It's insane.

So you're telling me that Coughlin is the reason this team went to the playoffs in 2017? Coughlin brought on Fournette and Campbell. The rest of the team was built. Swap Fournette with McCaffrey or Bortles with Mahommes, then take away the ego clashing with the players and TC. You think we still suck? I think you have to give Caldwell some credit.
