Somewhere 16 to 20. I like what he's done more than teams in the bottom half like the Cardinals, Jets, Redskins, Lions, and Bengals but he's not in the bracket with the upper tier guys by any means. I think the problem with this team was and is the coaching, bringing Coughlin in made the front office and culture worse and didn't help the coaching any IMO.

I can see where you're coming from. I just need to know if he's responsible for the Gus Bradley hire. Coaching certainly didn't do this team any favors over the last eight years.

It's still a trifecta for me. But because of that trifecta of poor management, poor coaching and poor ownership it's difficult to have any faith in what remains. Caldwell is that hoodwinking girlfriend to our franchise.

He'll let you down about 70% of the time. But that 30% (i.e, 2016 draft, late round "gems" like Brandon Linder and Telvin Smith along with the undrafted pick-up in Allen Hurns) deceive you into believing he's worth committing to at 110%.

Meanwhile we just ignore the scratch marks on our nice teal colored corvette and the holes in the wall in the house that Gus "built", etc. Again, no faith in him.

Shad just needs to let Caldwell succeed or fail on his own. Stop interfering and let him pick his players and pick his coach. Shad over stepped when he hired Bradley over Smith. Does that mean Smith would have worked out? Who knows but if I am going to hire a guy to build a team, I am going to let him do it.

Interesting take on the trade with Ramsey as far as play goes.

We have an awful record, Dave has spend more in FA than any other GM in history, and he hasn't drafted anyone that the rest of the league feels is worth spending major money on. I can't fathom how people can still defend him except through pure, unbridled fanaticism.

Factz!!! I think they all are in denial. To have 1 winning season and he has been here for 7 years. There should no excuse just look at the record. Are we supposed win or just have potential?

Agreed, some on here think he is good.  I dont, although I do think he has improved while working under Coughlin.  This will be the telling year if he has improved or not now that Coughlin is gone

I totally agree.  I don't know how in the world that Caldwell is getting a second chance to ruin this team except for #becausejaguars

There is nothing wrong with not getting compensatory picks. It just means you are willing to be active in free agency and/or you sign your own guys.

What guys? There's hardly anybody left on this team from the majority of his drafts or signings.

At this point he has drafted or signed the entire team. So all the guys.

Wait I'm lost.  So coughlin runs talent out of the city and forces us to draft a RB instead of QB among other decisions, but Dave improved under him.  What evidence do you have to support this?  What did Dave do that he learned from TC.
Season Tix, Section 409

2023 and still counting.....SB will finally be ours soon enough.

He learned to draft a big running back and to pass on 2 potential franchise QBs. He also learned how to run off your best players.

We get no comp picks because who was the last Jag to play through the duration of their contract?

We cut or trade guys before the contracts expire, so OFC we get no comp pick.

You could argue that the picks acquired for DFJ and Bouye were the equivalent of comp picks, but still, the guy playing here till his deal expires is a dang unicorn.

We don't get comp picks because we actually sign free agents and we try and resign our own guys. You get comp picks when you don't sign your own guys and you don't sign big name FAs.
