If the intention is to make a good meal, and he comes back with a rake, then they have completely different objectives. Yeah, and for example you could give our wife (coaches) a potato, and she's just gonna boil it and put it on the table. Whereas other wives (coaches) might actually prepare that potato well and turn it into something delicious that actually contributes to the meal. I love a metaphor I do. Yep on the Le Batard podcast not long ago Tony said the only thing that Dave has let him touch is UDFA. He is real proud of finding Herndon, Jarrod Wilson, and Corey Grant. Would imply that Caldwell has very little interest in using them for early rounds (03-11-2020, 08:08 PM)JackCity Wrote:(03-11-2020, 07:54 PM)Upper Wrote: Yep on the Le Batard podcast not long ago Tony said the only thing that Dave has let him touch is UDFA. He created the analytics dept with 3 or 4 ivy leaguers and Dave and Gus essentially told them to go sit in the corner and stay away. That's why Tony moved on to all of his other projects. It's more like seeing a nice backhoe for a price you can afford, but maybe you already have some tool that can also dig but isn't as good, so what you get instead is a less good tool that probably won't even do a good job at what you need it for, but it'll cost the same as the backhoe that you found for a much better deal. Which do you do, spend the money on the backhoe, or spend the same amount on something else less good? Let’s start over. A doctor, a lawyer, and an NFL GM walk into a bar...

Absolutely we take BAP in the 1st 5 rounds with the exceptions of quarterback and running back. It's likely going to take this team at least 3 more seasons to at least compete for the playoffs. How many players on the current roster can we likely count on at that point to be significant contributors? I'd say: Chark Harrison Taylor Josh Allen Hopefully Minshew and Jack With a nucleus as weak as this, taking BAP is the obvious decision. |
