I wonder how this will affect his draft stock.

I actually don't think it will impact it that much. I think he was viewed mostly as a mid-round type prospect (3-5 round pick). I don't think this will change it much.

I give him a ton of credit for doing this before the combine and draft.

Also nice to read that his Missouri teammates supported him the way they did.

Who cares......all I care about is if he can play, that's all that matters esp if we draft him.

#7

I could see a lot of teams passing on him. Not wanting to deal with the media circus. And they might also fear that having an openly gay player on their team would lead to potential free agents not wanting to sign with the team.

#8

I don't see that. Tebow, Teo, and Manziel all had bigger media circuses than this will bring....esp now a days

Major reporters tweeting that the scouts have known Sam has been gay for a while now, and we already knew that Mizzou has known all year. It was a good way to go about it and won't affect his stock any negatively, and maybe even positively if a Jerry Jones or some other owner decides he wants a share of all of the positive publicity that is being heaped upon Sam right now.

Or wide receiver.

He said if he gets drafted he is changing positions, he is moving to center.

Brave as hell.

Good for him.  If he can play, I don't think it will matter to a front office.  A team of true pros wouldn't care either.

#19

As long he is winning games thats all that matters

You can tell all the kiddies here, they have all the tiresome jokes for sale

If the kid can play and is a stud (which he was at Mizzou, btw) - noone will say a word to him.
