NFL.com - Jags have had Leonard Fournette trade talks for month

He's in the last year of his contract. We're probably not going to the playoffs in 2020. He won't be with us in 2021. He's out there campaigning to replace his own starting QB.

What more reason do we need to trade him?

Staight up trade LF for S Jamal Adam's. Is that possible? I wouldn't do it with Yannick.

I'm happy to see a Jags fan in a good mood. Could use more of this. ?

Not sure if this has been posted. I could see us just flat out cutting him.

Coughlin single handedly ruined this team...again.

Wow.  He sure looks like a net negative from that report.   Yes, I could see us just cutting him.

Shame if the Browns can trade Trent Richardson for a FIRST ROUNDER and we cant get SQUAT for Fournette.

Probably could have gotten something if they traded him before the 2018 season, but after watching him repeatedly try to run up Linder's butt and get caught from behind in the open field who would trade for this guy, Grigsen was fired years ago.

I would give them Fournette and a 3rd.

I personally believe the Jags will get a 4th rounder for him. Good riddance. Taking for Trevor before the season even begins.

I can definitely see this team winning 2 games next year. Massive loss of talent, a few mediocre FA signings. Especially if we stay pat in the draft and have 12-15 rookies on the roster this spring.

I think the only way the Jags are able to trade him is if someone misses out on "their guy" at RB in the 2nd-4th, and then trades a conditional 2021 pick for LF that will change value based on games played and production levels, probably 5th.

He just costs too much with the 5th year option in 2021, and if team doesn't take the option he becomes a very expensive 1 year RB rental in draft capital. Almost like trading a 5th round pick for 0.5 setons of Carlos Hyde.

I think we're trying to get something, but if we can't, I'm fine with cutting him. Very few teams wanna give bigger money to veteran RB's. They are a dime a dozen. RB's are only as good as the O-Line they run behind. Personally, I'd keep drafting RB's and I'd probably never keep them passed their rookie deal, unless I saw something very special in them. RB's just don't have the value that they used to.

Ryan Grigson is unemployed for doing that.

I doubt we straight cut LF this year. But I've been surprised before.
We could draft Akers or Dillon or Perine and have them share time with Fournette this year and just move on completely next year.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if we're not getting any draft picks thrown our way for a RB that hasn't been overly impressive. If we want a 4th for him, why wouldn't a team just draft a rookie in the 4th and have an equal (or better) back with more years (and less expensive) on their contract.

I think LF isn't going to be traded, plays 2020 and walks into FA and probably gets minimal action there.

I'm fine with any of those situations. If we trade him, I'm elated, but more likely, I'm expecting us to either cut him or he plays in 2020 and leaves via free agency after the 2020 season. I really don't care what we do or don't do with him. A trade would be great, but I don't see us getting any offers.

Miami tried to trade for Fournette before landing Breida apparently.

Dave should've traded Fournette to Miami for a used milk carton, then signed Breida. Would've been a huge win.
