O.K. I like this pickup. He had 9 picks last season and played pretty well at the Shrine game. He's also over 6' tall.

We drafted like four defensive backs so meh

This kid might sneak into a starter role if we unload Leonard

From Dave's comment in the presser that's still going on, I expect LF to be gone soon.

Good, it's not like we're losing anything when he's gone.

Never seen a big-bodied RB go down so easily and so much by one-armed tackling.

I wouldn't. He's been told he's staying, probably all year unless someone gets injured and need a rb

Caldwell, asked if he had had any conversations with Leonard Fournette’s agent about being here next season.

I like the Reed and Barcoo signings. Moss should have stayed in school.

Except we drafted 4 DBs. Makes the signings underwhelming

They must have concerns with Hayden and Herndon then. Otherwise there's no reason to go overkill. Henderson starts for sure. That's obvious. I like J.R Reed. Could sneak on this roster as a 2nd stringer/ST'er and maybe work in at FS.

Hayden only signed a 3 year deal here and will be a FA after this season.

Herndon shouldn't just be gifted a starter spot, we needed some people to push him, or take his spot.

2 of them are too short to be starting CB's in the NFL.

According to Sports Illustrated, here is a list of our signings......

Tavien Feaster, RB, South Carolina
J.R. Reed, S, Georgia
Ben Ellefson, TE, NDSU
Ross Matiscik, LS, Baylor
Tre'Vour Wallace-Simms, OG, Missouri
Steve Nilesen, OG, Eastern Michigan
Asten Pleasants, OL, Ohio University
Nathan Cottrell, ST, Georgia Tech
Josh Hammond, WR, Florida
Luqman Barcoo, CB, SDSU
Nate Evans, LB, UCF
Kobe Williams, CB, ASU
Doug Costin, DE/DT, Miami (OH)
James Robinson, RB, Illinois State
Amari Henderson, CB, Wake Forest
Connor Slomka, RB/FB, Army
Marvelle Ross, WR/KR, Notre Dame
Brandon Wright, K/P, Georgia State

We got some pretty nice players there. I especially like Reed, Wallace-Simms, Barcoo, Evans, Robinson, Henderson and Costin. Costin played just down the road at my Alma Mater, Miami (OH). He has a good motor, excellent size and was moved inside and outside to pressure the passer. He had 16.5 sacks in his college career and tallied 12 TFL in 2019. I think he can compete for the same type of role that Calais had with the team.

It really doesn't make sense for a UDFA DB to sign with the Jags. I guess they are hoping that they can beat out the 4 drafted players for a spot.

I think it does. We have very little established talent in the secondary and outside of Henderson, most of the new guys are short late round nickel type DBs.

That and we are known for having UDFA's make our 53 man roster.

Agent: "Hey kid, I got us an offer. It's from the Jaguars."
Player: "The Jaguars? Didn't they draft a bunch of DBs? I don't wanna go there."
Agent: "Lemme ask you, do you enjoy being able to eat? Because if you do, it's either go to camp with the Jaguars or start your exciting career in insurance sales."

It makes sense for someone like Barcoo to sign here when you consider it's a perfect scheme fit + the only guys ahead of him for a starting job are a udfa in Herndon (albeit after a good first year starting ) and Melvin, Henderson will be pencilled in as starter.

All he needs is a decent camo to be backup outside corner and all he needs is an injury to possibly take it from Herndon
