Minshew Not The Man

Maybe although Minshew's completion % is higher so far and he's under a heavier pass rush. He may only ever be a backup but I'd give him the rest of the year to see if he can adjust.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Agree. He will get the rest of the year, but what I have been stating is that he is showing what type of player he is - especially where he was drafted (6th rd). He will be a serviceable backup who can come in to play a game or two but the biggest issue for our franchise is to not repeat previous draft mistakes and skip out on drafting a potential franchise QB. We have the draft capital and this year the top two prospects can become true franchise QBs that we need in my opinion.
Couple of good throws on that drive capped off by a good TD run by Minshew.
Good to see what he's supposed to do despite our team's ineptitude. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! What I have noticed is when the game gets a bit out of hand and Minshew calms down some, he can quite decent. I do think some of the issues we are seeing is confidence and nerves.
Teams know his tendencies, that they can exploit from our glaring weaknesses
One of those guys where they finally got some tape on him and figured him out during the offseason It doesnt help that the defense friggin blows. Ugh, sad situation for the Jags overall. Does anyone have any good team related news?
Minshew is perfectly good enough in every single area save arm strength. He can't throw sharp and long and this means he's all wrong for a team that gives up 40 a game that needs a QB who can generate yards and points in a hurry. I'm resigned to drafting Fields from OSU next year and Minshew going to a good team with real coaches that can live with a smart, accurate ball control QB and offense.
I’m good with drafting a top guy and letting them battle it out in camp. Minshew should hold on through the offseason with the rookie hopefully taking it from him when he’s ready.

Exactly what you need in a good back up QB.
Drafted QB will do zero for this team but reset hope for a distant future.

So if we are in position to draft a player like Lawrence or Fields with the first of our two round 1 draft picks, you would go elsewhere? Or are you going to wait for another draft year where we don't have as much draft capital to make such a pick - especially when it weighs more per se?

I think we have to almost have to consider trading both of our firsts to move up if we don’t suck enough to already be in the top 2. Outside of Fields and Lawrence the other guys aren’t intriguing.

No that isn't my point. Just saying this roster isn't ready made and set for take off. We won't see a return on the choice with this roster.
