Jags trade the third pick to the browns for there 4th pick and there colts 1 round selection(via Richardson trade)? I feel bridgewater will fall to us and we will have another 1st round pick! Who do we select??? Very unlikely but let me dream

Why would the Browns give away a first round pick to move up ONE spot?

I don't think there is anyway we get both their first round picks.

The only way I could see this happening is if they know we will take their guy, and Caldwell makes it clear that the guy is ours unless they pony up. And, of course, the Browns fall in love Gene Smith style. I would take their pick @ 4 and a 4th round pick from them with this draft if they are going QB. It thrills me less and less the further we go. I have moved on to the Watkins/trade down bandwagon. Maybe even both if we are lucky.

Edit: Clarifying rounds of picks, so people knew what I actually thought was realistic.

There is no reason to trade down one spot. Somebody we want will be available at #3. Whoever is worth the #4 pick is also worth the #3 pick.

But there is one trade with the Browns I would love: up to #35 in Round 2, especially if they accept our fourth and fifth round picks.

Because it is much easier to get first round talent at 35 than 39. What if somehow Dee Ford drops into the second round and the Raiders, Falcons, or Buccaneers also need a guy like him?

Either don't trade up or do it for somebody else.

u dont trade up just to trade up. only if there is a guy u really like and u think he will be gone when u pick. You cant say right now we should trade up because u dont even know who will be there

If somebody we like falls out of the first round, we can trade up in the second to get him before another 4-12 team does. Of course we would only do that if there was any reason to worry another 4-12 team wants him. I am saying if that scenario plays out, I would be in favor of trading up.

Browns would trade with st Louis if they think we want there guy

It would probably cost them similar amounts to leapfrog us as to trade with us

It's much easier to get first round talent in the first round. I would do the first trade especially if both Clowney and bridgewater are on the board at 3.

My point is sometimes a player expected to be picked in the first round drops into the second. If that happens, we can get two players with first round talent by trading up in Round 2.

It's also possible to get two players with first round talent without trading up.

Remember we are #39, which means that could be very difficult if we stay put. If a player we want drops into the second round and the team on the clock accepts our 4-5 pick, the safest thing to do for picking him is trade up.

Every year players with 1st round talent fall into the 2nd round and some even into the 3rd round. In recent years: Justin Houston, Keenan Allen, Lavonte David, and Eddie Lacy are all guys that had 1st round talent...but for varying reasons fell in the draft.
