Well, the antibiotics seem to be kicking in. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I feel good. But I'm at least feeling somewhat human again. Hopefully a couple of more days...
I'm just itching to get out and enjoy this lovely weather, it's 37 and raining this morning. Dorothy...we're not in Florida anymore. ![]() (10-27-2020, 08:31 AM)RicoTx Wrote: Well, the antibiotics seem to be kicking in. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I feel good. I guess I picked a good year to be out of touch with the Jags and the board. Hope everyone is hanging in there OK.

So I was looking at my prescription for the antibiotics. It says to take on an empty stomach. But is your stomach ever truly empty? Does that mean I can't ever take them?

But it does say take at least an hour before meals (not really an empty stomach) but the doctor said it's not really a big deal if I don't. But bottom line, thank goodness these things are starting to do their job. I think I'll be fine in a couple of days. I'm targeting Thursday. ![]()

I’m a redneck living in a subdivision. I’ve got a fire going in the fire pit on my patio. I used oak. Never cooked a steak on an oak fire before. But, these ribeyes will either taste great or suck. Either way, my family and I are having fun. Back on to my search for land.

Fun fact: these steaks actually turned out amazing. Even the wife was talking them up. I really didn’t expect that. They were great. I truly thought I wasted 30 bucks.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

It's perfect for cooking. With that being said, my wife is cooking steak tonight on (sigh) a gas grill. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Gas grills are an abomination.
All I had was oak. I wish I had a stockpile of other woods. But they were surprisingly good. Probably the best steak I had in a Long while. Plus using the coals from a real fire, no grill, made it that much more enjoyable. I can’t do the gas. It’s great for those that want to get going fast, get it cooked and move on. Seasonings, rubs and marinades are especially crucial when cooking on gas, IMO. I like the flavor you can add using fire. Be it my Webber, big green egg or a fire. You can use any of those methods and not add “smoke”. These steaks happened to have it. I need to get some hickory apple and cherry wood so I can do more of what I did with a wider variety of meats. I find mesquite to be a bit too much for my taste.

I saw a pressure washing sign in a yard today. A sign like a roofer or pool company would put in the yard. Let’s just say, I’d be embarrassed if I pressure washed that driveway and put my name on it.
