2020 Presidental Election

I think the bigger question is where does the GOP go from here?

Reload and try again in 4 years or dump the Trump tack altogether?

They can't.

Trump is single handedly responsible for bringing black and Hispanic support back to the GOP. They can't dump Trump.

If any of these guys bash Trump as their primary platform, they lose my vote, and I am sure millions of others. Trump is here forever. This is Trump's GOP.

Don Jr and other people are calling out GOP 2024 hopefuls by name now. Ron DeSantis is fighting for him and he is my pick for 2024. These other people are committing political suicide and they don't even see it.

I think they can and they'll certainly try.

Also, Trump is no spring chicken and he doesn't look like he has the healthiest diet. I think its more likely one of the sons run.

I doubt it. My pick is Ron Desantis.

I'm still a Republican.
I'm going to do everything in my power (which is not a lot) to rid the party of his personality.
If the 2016 Republican presidential primary used proportional representation like the Democrats do, or if they used an approval voting system, or a ranked choice voting system, we'd be talking about how president Rubio or president Cruz just crushed Joe Biden to earn a second term.
We've got to fix this "one round, pick one" voting system at all levels.

Always interesting to hear your opinions. Where do we go from here? Are these mail-in shenanigans our new reality? Will there be some "event" every 4 years that justifies mail-in voting? If we accept what is happening, will there ever be another Republican president?

Another interesting thing to keep an eye on is which GOP members are fighting right now and who is sitting on their hands? This will certainly be used as leverage against these people in future elections when it comes to Trump supporters.

On your first question, I really don't know...  I have seen a very serious shift towards the left in this country over the last 20 years or so.  It seems to have accelerated over the past 8 or so years (to me).  The one saving grace that we have right now is that the democrats don't have control of the Senate.  The far left is taking control of this country and if they somehow get their agenda through we will be no better off than the USSR or Venezuela in a matter of time.

As far as voting, it's almost a lost cause at this point.  From what is happening right now it certainly appears that the outcome is going to be pre-determined.  The largest culprits of our downfall are the media (social and traditional) as well as the infiltration of our education system.

Trust me.  They will never take my guns.  If and when a civil war breaks out, I am on the side that upholds our Constitution.

I wasn't mentioning taking guns. Just them stealing an election....you would think that would provoke an armed reaction from everyone who says the guns are partly there to limit political power......

We have the 4 Box Method here. Using the boxes in the correct order is paramount to a just revolt. Right now we're on Box #2 of 4.

What's wrong with a trailer park?

Another case of weapons envy. Just like my relatives in Greece who tell me that they wish they were allowed the opportunity to arm themselves against an increasingly socialist government.

It's hilarious to me that you folks think this election is somehow rigged because Trump is losing because they're counting all the votes. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Frankly, the GOP, if it has any conscience whatsoever, should distance itself from Trump immediately. His cultic influence is dangerous, and his lack of regard for decorum and his insane divisiveness have done untold damage to the political landscape of this country. Biden is nothing more than tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

I'm more liberal than most of you, but I don't ascribe to any political party. Trump is Nero, and you have to have some serious blinders on not to see that.

Those guys could have done so much better than Trump, on every level.  Having Trump in the primary would have pushed them to be a bit more populist, but then one of them would have beat Trump, and become a hero for left and right.  Instead of being a footstool for an incompetent narcissist for four years.

They wouldn't even have had to change party rules or voting software. Just write, "vote for as many candidates as you like" on the ballot.
