Quote:I'm not a fan of Jedd Fisch. I'm hopeful for a new more proven OC to be hired after this season. He may prove me wrong but at this point he's got a long ways to go.

I wouldn't count on that. I don't see Bradley as a JDR (musical assistants) kinda guy. I think he'll be loyal to his hires.

Quote:I've had some disagreements with others on this board (and I still wholeheartedly disagree with some of you), but I've got to give props to everyone that is still around - I don't think anyone can question the loyalty of those of us who remain on this board after the past few seasons.

I can't get myself to be excited by a potential prospect in next years draft this early in the season - so I'm still pretty miserable as far as football goes. That said I'm still going to watch every game that I physically can, and you'll still see me on here on gameday even though it will probably drive me insane doing so.

Try to enjoy the rest of season, fellow fans.

I agree with you on this one, there's only real fans left on this board, what's the point of trolling on the worse team in the leagues message board.

Quote:The Colts hardly had a decade of sucking like us. They had 1 freaking year for their fans to suffer, we've had 10 plus. If I was in charge I would have done everything possible to get Any Reid in here. Andy Reid would have brought in Alex Smith like he did in K.C. and immediately improved our offense. Thats what proven guys do.

Because they found their QB. They didn't continue with Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky.

Next year is when we get that QB, at least that would appear to be the plan. The Colts situation is not all that similar to the Jaguars in my eyes.

Quote:I don't really have a problem with anyone we let walk this offseason. I understand the point you make, but none of the players we let walk are ever really going to be difference makers.

Difference makers no, but Cox, Knighton and Smith would've kept this defense respectable until we found long term guys to replace them. Instead we have Ball, Marks and Hayes......I just hate the notion of getting worse to get better, it's such a backwards way to build a roster.

We were 2-14 last year. What did you expect? Caldwell to bring back alot of guys from that team?

They didn't keep the defense "respectable" last year, did they?

I thought I read somewhere that Fisch was signed to a one year deal. I need to find out more.

The only one in that group worth considering to resign in my eyes was Smith and he wasn't changing anything this year.

The thing is you don't know that they did not attempt exactly this and that Smith would have even entertained coming here. Even if he had he would have been with the same group of talentless players.

Looking to troll? Don't bother, we supply our own.

I might be way off here, but I really don't have a huge issue with the defense. I understand it still has some fixing to do, but I see a lot of potential. I like the way they shut down (out)  KC (adjustments) from the mid 2nd Q on.

Oakland didn't do a heckuva lot against them, point-wise....yeah, McFadden had a decent day, but McFadden is a really good RB when healthy.

The only release that I disagreed with was Daryl Smith. All others, meh.

I don't. He is all about competition, it damn well better apply to all of his staff.

I hate this type of defense/ response. Its common on this board, too.

In todays age of digital/ social media....I think its a pretty safe bet that if Khan really did have interest/ tried to get Reid here for even an interview, that we would have found out about it.

Fisch is not the problem here. If you've noticed our past OC's have run very similar playbooks I like to call "Checkdown". That is because considering the lack of talent at QB they don't wanna risk a big play for it to fall flat on it's face. A lot of people thought the same way about Dirk before he went to the Falcons now he's drawing up plays for potential Super Bowl champs. Solve the QB situation and watch us start drawing up some magic.

Daryl Smith is like 100, please....and missed practically the whole season last year.

Koetter > Fisch as an OC.

I'm hardly fully sold on Koetter based on anything he's done in Atlanta. That team is stacked with talent on offense. It's hard to say he's responsible for much of that success with guys like Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez etc.

The fact remains that we do not know. A safe bet is still a bet. It is possible that the negotiations or contact be kept quite unless there was interest shown by Reid. It does happen. Why do you make comments pertaining to "The Board" like you are above it? It comes off as child like.

You saying we have better talent there now?

Andy Reid's evaluation of talent easily surpasses Caldwell's and Bradley's. I would also say he would have optimized our roster within the constraints of free agency, draft and salaries. He was the guy who selected Donovan McNabb in 99 when the rest of Philly booed. He also gave Michael Vick a shot after years of inactivity when other teams didn't want to touch him.

After a decade of sucking, he would have brought an element to this franchise we've never seen, and that is a proven coach. Instead, we're still searching for that diamond in the rough while we become further ingrained as the laughingstock of the NFL.
