NFL.Com Draft Grades Are Up

#61

Quote:He is 6'3 220lbs runs a 4.4

High points the ball well

Beats defenders routinely

Great after the catch

I never heard of high pointing the ball.

His vertical leap and three cone drill statistics are going to be important at the combine.

THink Larry Fitz when the cards made the superbowl. Warner threw it up regardless of the D and Fitz repeatedly highpointed the ball well above the defenders heads. Think Megatron toss ups from Matt Stafford.

Kinda shocked that we dont have anyone rated at 8 even. Maybe just because it is pre work outs and everything? Seems like a weaker class than i thought it was?

Did he provide a scale? Maybe his scale only goes up to 8 for some strange reason

This reminds me of a situation I was in when I was in the Service. I had to take an oral examination board, and I was told to not expect anything over a 3.4 since they would never give anything higher than that. I responded that "a 3.4 is an 'A' then?" and was told no. 4.0 is an 'A', 3.4 is a 'B'.

"So why even bother with a 4.0?"

That still makes no sense to me.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

So according to him the entire QB class are just starting caliber players or below.

I thought they were ranked in the sevens, which would make them Pro Bowlers.

Bortles is his highest ranked QB at 6.4 followed by Teddy at 6.3. Clowney is his highest ranked player overall at 7.5.

Not everyone thinks so, but some have said this for a while now.  There's nothing special about any of them, IMO.

I'd wager Clowney dropped from 9.0-10.0 after his easy to criticize season this year.  Prior to that, he was talked about as having one of the highest grades ever.

The only reason our guy Luke Joeckel was ever mentioned as a possible #1 pick by the Chiefs was Jadeveon Clowney had to stay in school under NFL rules. It is a big shame he decided not to be as good in his third year as he was in his second year.

He got it from clicking on the question mark next to the draft grades.

That's not so. Luke Joeckel was the top football player in college. He was atop most all draftnik web site value boards. Clowney was pretty much the same as he is right now...a potential Derrick Harvey 2.0.

The next time he's compared to Derrick Harvey will be the first.
