"I see multiple elite Qb's in this draft" ..... Interesting. Named Justin, Zach and Trevor by name... He also talked about throwing the ball 50 times if you have Haskins at Qb.. whaaaa?

He was talking about how he adjusted to his strengths on offense at Ohio State.  Basically if you have a guy like Haskins you throw it, if you have a guy like Zeke you run it, etc.

Actually exciting times. I might actually watch this year. Last year I think I watched the first game and that was it, mostly just checking the scores.

We should thank him.

This feels such a boom or bust hire. Youve got so many people saying what a great hire this is, just as many saying its a huge mistake.

Certainly going to be one hell of an interesting season next year!!

So far, the only place I have seen negative remarks about this hire is on this forum. I listened to part of the press conference at work, but then I listened to the whole thing just now, and I'm pumped. Any hire you make is a boom or bust hire. Our franchise has always been scraping the bottom of the barrel when it came to FA hires and head coaches. Things don't feel that way now. At least not IMO. You know Dallas would have puled the trigger on Meyer in a second if he showed interest last year. But we got him. That doesn't happen to this team. People are salty or want to taper their expectations, but I don't give a [BLEEP]. [BLEEP] them, I'm stoked, cant let some butthurt [BLEEP] rain on the few good times we have had being jags fans.

GO Jags

Judging by Meyer’s record, this will be a boom then bust hire.

However, it’s only fair to qualify Meyer’s history of flakiness by stating that even though he tends to abruptly quit, he leaves behind plentiful resources for others to continue.

I can't wait until he fires Todd Wash. Gruden should get the boot too!

Since he was hired im rooting for him. Not going to judge him before hes even blown his whistle. I hope he is the guy that turns us around. I saw this from Fox, i like a lot of what he says and his football knowledge but i do think its fair to understand why people have question marks. The step up from college to NFL has proved tough for coaches before.

Im hopeful that he can get us on the right path in terms of attitude and mindset as a team and franchise. We have a young team with no real superstars and egos so it will be interesting to see how players react to his style. I get peoples concerns with his past and health and there is a difference between playing Saturday and Sunday. It certainly has captured the media's attention and when we add Lawrence, suddenly this team looks very different already.

The first real time we will see how different is when FA hits.

Always scraping the bottom of the barrel on FA hires?

I think you need to recheck your facts on that one.

The step up from NFL coordinator to NFL HC has proven equally tough for coaches.  The failure rate of NFL coordinators who become NFL head coaches is enormous.  So I don't put much stock in this thing about "lack of NFL experience."  NFL experience doesn't seem to make coordinators any more successful as head coaches than guys coming straight from college.

The failure rates of all coaches in the NFL is high regardless if they are new to the NFL or not.
