Bill Polian on Johnny Manziel

here it is for people who want to see it. He had a few drops. But he also struggled throwing it down the field. LSU blitzed more than I remember but you can see their DE's not rushing full speed. Trying not to allow him to break the pocket underneath them. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. My breakdown of him against LSU in case anyone's interested.

2015 NFL Draft - Analyzing Targets www.jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/7892-2015-nfl-draft-analyzing-targets/ Quote:http://blackandteal.com/2014/02/23/2014-...y-manziel/Well done. It really is hard to nail him down isn't it? (NFL projection-wise) I kinda' feel like he's going to work in the NFL - but it'll take some time and the right system/coaches to develop him properly. I can see him having some Favre-esque 20+ INT seasons with a handful of magic moments sprinkled betwixt the picks. I don't feel like taking him at #3 would be wise - but I look forward to watching him play in the NFL as long as it's not for a division rival.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
He really is tough to peg because there's no real precedent. You could go Tarkenton but competition wasn't as fierce back in the day. You could say Farve but he wasn't as mobile. You could say Vick but he isn't the passer that Manziel is IMO. And yeah the same better judgment that tells me not to pick him also tells me that I don't want my division rival to take him...although part of me wonders, if I don't want my rival to take him, isn't that a positive appraisal of the prospect? I don't know what to do with him but I'll be excited to watch his career.

Exciting is the best word I could use for him. I also don't think he will be a diva. He has made an effort to say he doesn't want to be labeled Johnny Football anymore, etc. I think we are witnessing a man maturing infront of our eyes.
I don't want him playing for the Texans. I think I would prefer Bridgewater over Johnny, but I would be excited if Johnny was a Jaguar.
