I know where you're getting that from. I agree with both the statement and it's source. That being said, it wasn't referring to putting your faith in people.


I think Justin will be back in the league. Hopefully for us. But that really isn't the most important thing. Having a number one receiver would speed up the rebuild immeasurably but he's worth so much more than just a football player. He's a human and has inherent value. I hope he finds his identity before this affliction consumes him.

I can't imagine seeing him in a different team's uniform. Dave Caldwell has no interest in giving up on him. But I will worry about that happening if we draft a wide receiver.

There is another cliche - "He creates good seperation."

 

That's not cliche.  You can plainly see if a WR can create separation.  Look at what Cecil did to Joe Haden in Cleveland last year.  Cecil is slower than Haden by far, but still created separation to make the TD grab.

 

Generally when they say "he created good separation", that means the WR runs crisp routes or knows how to turn a CB's hips away from the direction of the route.
