Would you have taken Clowney at #2 last year if he we're draft eligible?

#1

Putting our revisionist history caps on the question is simple. If Clowney were able to enter the draft last year would you have selected him with our first round pick? For fun we'll assume the Chiefs would pass using the same reason the Texans may, the 3-4 defense.

Yeah, I would've went Clowney especially with Monroe already on the team.

What year would we not take Clowney at 2 would be the better question!

Considering people like to bring up that "he had a down year" this year, I'm curious as to people's opinions with this year being thrown out.

would have been great because Matthews would have still been an option this year in that scenario

Or you can also factor in Monroe still being on this team as well. Either under the tag with the potential to trade during the draft for picks or eventually under a long term contract.

Is this a joke? The chiefs would have either taken him or gotten some other teams 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th for him.. that draft was very weak..

Can you say that for a fact? Are the Texans (same situation) an undeniable lock to take Clowney at #1?

I'll do you one better.

Not only would I have taken Clowney. But both Bridgewater and Manziel, even last year, would have been the two best QBs in the draft.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Manziel, Bridgewater, Bortles, Murray, Carr, McCarron, Mettenberger are all better than the QBs last year IMO

Last year was certainly a down year for Qb's, that's for sure. It was a bad year to tank for a QB.

Even this year has some real uncertainty as far as taking a QB high in the draft.

What is going on with the college QB position lately???

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

No but this draft has other players that would warrant bein taken over Clowney, last year didn't. The top 2 players were LT's who wouldn't even be rated at the #1/#2 tackle this year.
