Travis Etienne - Rd1, Pick 25

I don't think it's fair to say he is a great player even. He's good, but there are definite concerns with his vision, lateral quickness, and propensity to try to hit the home run so often that he leaves a lot of yards on the field on plays where he could/should just put his head down and get another 2-3 yards.

The more I'm thinking about this pick the more I'm falling in love with it.. I think we're going to see an improved o-line this season and with the addition of a few blocking TE's, there should be plenty of holes for both Robs and ETN. Let alone the fact that defenses are going to have to start respecting the pass again..

Initially, I wouldn't have gone ETN at 25, but I have a feeling that I'm going to be glad they did..

I am excited to watch him play for sure. Even if he wouldn’t have been the pick for me, I do think he will elevate our running game.

Closing out games where we secure an early lead just got a bit easier. Robinson can stay a little fresher. Trevor starts out with one very comfortable connection. I sure he will contribute to some very fun moments this year.

Also, don't forget, Robinson didn't make it all the way through the season last year.  They shut him down after 14 games because of wear and tear.

We literally have A Three Headed Monster within the backfield.

No they didn't lol. He about got his ankle snapped off in the Ravens game. That's why he missed the last 2 games. They didn't shut him down because of wear and tear. He had a legit injury.

I'm diametrically opposed to RB picks early in the draft unless they are "generational talents."

Saquon Barkley is the only guy I've considered worthy in the past several years.

That said, Etienne may turn out to be a proper compliment to Robinson if the run game is well schemed.
Underwhelmed by the value at the pick but hoping to be proven wrong.

Okay, but my point stands.  We need more than one.

And for everyone who says we shouldn't draft a running back in the first round, I can name a dozen that everyone would be happy to draft in the first round.

Many teams and scouts had him as the best RB in the draft but if it makes you doomsday believers think you have it all figured out then by all means. Dude was a TD machine and Trevor's partner in crime. Has elite speed. I honestly think some of you are insufferable.

The big question seems to be how much usage will Etienne get.  NFL teams average approximately 27 rushing carries per game.  Let's assume 2 of those are by either a quarterback or a wide receiver.  That means 25 carries for the running backs.  Assuming all are healthy, how do you envision those 25 carries being distributed between Etienne, Robinson and Hyde?

A lot of guys are saying ETN will be a compliment to JR but I think JR will be a compliment to ETN.

I think ETN is the RB1.

Meyer also said that he will be spread out wide at times as well!

Coach already said they pounding the rock so 27 is under estimating

Hyde should have no business touching the field unless ETN or Robinson are hurt. How they divide up those touches between the two will be interesting. You got to try and get each of them at least 15 touches per game to justify the pick, but who has the hot hand game per game could play into things as well. Robinson is definitely going to be the guy running between the Tackles, with ETN doing more of the outside stuff.

Hope to see them both on the field together quite a bit. Robinson is no slouch catching the ball either, so teams would still have to watch out for that.

You then have to think about Chark, Shenault and Marvin Jones. Gotta get the ball in their hands as well and there's only so many to go around.

No, I would not. I’d rather go into the season with O’Shaunessey as TE1.
