My husband works in the city where one of Floyd's sisters lives and where one of his many funeral services were held, and he's hoping crap doesn't hit the fan. There weren't a boatload of protests or riots there, at least not to the degree there was last year in other cities, but anything less than a guilty verdict and life in prison might be problematic there. 

The National Guard better be on stand by because it's going to get ugly if a lesser verdict than the one above is handed down.

You think both the 2nd and 3rd degree murder charges will be dropped? If so, that manslaughter charge carries a max of only 4 years.

The sentencing is still 6 weeks away I believe. I'd imagine more of this type of thing will be uncovered before then, making this even more of a circus.

Or at least the 3rd degree charge. 

Were I his lawyer, appeal and retrial would be delayed for as long as possible to allow things to cool down.

He flat out lied. There should definitely be a penalty of some sort laid against him. I don't know what could be done at this point but he should be held accountable for lying.

Perjury charge and punishment is he pays for the new trial. When he can't pay, garnish his wages for 10-20 years.
