Overrated prospects

Barr - Not sold on him refining his tech.

Mike Evans - Dude is okay but he's not very athletic other than a good vertical , has suspect route running and is easily pushed around by DBs on the line and mid catch despite his size.

Blake Bortles - Dude literally pulled a Gabbert and came outta nowhere to suddenly be a top ranked QB prospect. Questionable arm despites his size he also carries  pocket awarness issues similiar to gabbys but not as defined.

Gabbert didn't come out of nowhere. He was a 5 star recruit and considered an NFL prospect the minute he set foot on campus.

A wonderous place where 2 tenths of a second can either make or cost these young athletes millions of dollars.  It's a stupid practice that way too much stock is put into.  So best of luck to the actual good players, because you can screw up an entire college career with one bad day here.

I'd say the football media probably puts more stock into the combine than teams do.

Not sure if serious . He might have had a high rating coming out of high school but most scouts and analysts didnt have gabbert as anything special until after his 1st starting season and even then it was just a whisper here or there.

Next year he took a few baby steps but nothing to justify being a top 10 pick and he flew up draft boards in the 2nd half of his final college season just like Bortles did. Both Gabbert and Bortles have been hyped to the top based on size and athletic ability not pocket awarness , arm talent (not strength but ability ) and football IQ  which both struggle with in similiar fashion.

Gabbert came out of nowhere in his final season and so has Bortles.

I thought Mike Evans looked quick running routes

Bortles didn't come out of nowhere either. He was very highly rated for the 2015 draft and semi unexpectedly declared early, so a lot of casuals had to catch up. That was an all around bad post haha.

Fans also consider the combine important even if they say they dont.

Some teams do. See Dontari Poe and Aaron Curry as examples.

Oh ya, and Matt Jones haha

Aaron Curry was a first team All American and won the Butkus Award as the country's best linebacker. He wasn't a workout warrior.

I can see this, too.  Add to that, a lot of his production came from broken plays where he finds a hole in a defense that's chasing Johnny Football's improvisations.  So, very legit questions about how he'd perform when asked to run precise plays.  Not sure if it was the combine analysts or talk radio, but I recall others mentioning this as well.  Not to say he can't be that guy, but may take more work to get there than expected.

Very true.  It wasn't the combine, it was his complete body of work.

There was seemingly nothing that indicated he'd flame out the way he did, other than perhaps he was almost too "perfect" a prospect.  He was supposed to be THE can't miss guy of can't miss guys.

There are not many prospects that are graded that high by almost everyone and completely flame out unless it's an injury or off the field issue. Curry was the can't miss that missed badly.

I really like Dee Ford but he got pushed up a lot because of the senior bowl, I think he's a 2nd round guy whos going to go in the first now.

Yes in the open with no defenders or pressure .

When i watch A&M games and his draft breakdown i see a guy who routinely rounds off cuts and struggles to seperate from defenders leading to a ton of contested catches. In the NFL that gap will close even more and those contested jump balls will become big hits and INTs.

I think Evans has outstanding hands he just shouldnt be considered a first round lock IMO.

He was considered a high 2nd round pick, but then had a really good National Championship game, a great senior bowl, and has even added some muscle.  So a low 1st round pick isn't out of the question.

Go watch all of his game tape from the past 3 years, if you still say he's overrated you're not very bright.

Oh, that's right. Anyone on here who doesn't think Bridgewater is God is clueless.

Sorry, I don't have time to go back and watch three years of tape. I have other things going on. What I have seen from him though hasn't wowed me like some of the knob slobbers on here.

If great accuracy/poise/decision making doesn't wow you, than you just might not be a hardcore football fan. Go watch Johnny Manziel he will wow you, but I'd bet you money he wont in the Pros.

May want to look other places on the internets. It's not just this board. But continue exaggerating please.
