I believe it would. We showed no aggressiveness in that game. We just stuck to the game plan even though it wasn't working. It was maddening!

The defense wasn't the biggest problem.  The offense didn't bother playing the second half.

True, but both sides of the football were a big contributor in that loss as far as I'm concerned.

A couple of thoughts on Day 15. One is it was certainly a day for defense, with cornerback Shaquill Griffin having yet another standout day in what has been a standout Jaguars 2021 Training Camp for the veteran free-agent acquisition. Another is that even on a standout day for the defense, it's significant that rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the offense found a way to make plays – particularly in the red zone.

Trevor Lawrence isn't getting the starter's reps every single day, but he got them on Tuesday. He made the most out of them, too, throwing three touchdowns and leading several big scoring drives throughout the practice. Lawrence once again looked the part of the No. 1 overall pick, specifically when it comes to throwing the ball downfield or hitting touch throws in the corner of the end-zone. He wasn't mistake-free, but he did have a few plays that were genuinely jaw-dropping.

The first was a red-zone touchdown to Chris Manhertz in the upper left corner of the end zone. After three straight incompletions, Lawrence went to the end zone and looked for a big play as Manhertz got a step on linebacker Dakota Allen. Instead of attempting to hit Manhertz in the chest and giving Allen a chance to break up the pass, Lawrence rainbowed the pass over both players and put it at a high point near Manhertz's outside shoulder -- a spot where only he could catch the ball.
he second throw was a beautifully placed deep pass to Marvin Jones down the left sideline, with Shaquill Griffin legitimately step-for-step in coverage. There was no real window, with Lawrence's only chance to complete the 30-yard pass being to lead Jones over his shoulder. Lawrence did exactly that, resulting in a massive gain and a perfect deep attempt.

I've read enough glowing accounts of how well we did in practice (against ourselves) to become a little skeptical.  The only way to tell where we are in our development is to go against another team.

Every play in practice, somebody wins and somebody loses.  It seems like some writers focus exclusively on the winners.  So and so scored a touchdown.  What about the guy who gave up the touchdown?   James Robinson ran for a long TD, because the defense got gashed.   A TE made a nice reception, because one of our linebackers got beat.   It's a zero sum game.  You can't tell how good your team is from its practices against itself.

Yeah, these practice TD's don't hold a lot of weight. I was at the scrimmage and towards the end, the defense literally quit and were either not on the field or not contesting balls. Beatherd and Luton threw some touchdowns during this time, and they counted these TD's in the stats after the scrimmage. Looked nice on paper but...
