I haven't done this in a while since the Jaguars' play has been "The Bad, The Bad and The Ugly" for a long time. Anyways, here we go:
The Good
The Bad
The Ugly

Anyways, here we go:I disagree there was NO pas rush. No sacks? Yeah. But I think the rush was okay...but no containment. Tua ran out of a few sacks and threw out of others. I agree with you the pass coverage overall was depressing. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
The Good - TLaw and JRob
The Bad - Coaching The Ugly - We're entering the bye week now and this would have been the perfect time to dump the dead weight that is Urban Meyer ![]()
The Good:
1. Lawrence continues to show that he will eventually become a legitimate franchise quarterback. 2. James Robinson was finally used correctly. 3. Agnew can continue to be an important part of the team's receiver group. 4. I didn't notice Cam Robinson which is always a good sign for an offensive lineman. 5. Matthew Wright kicked two of the biggest field goals in team history. It may have prevented the team from setting the record for most consecutive losses. 6. The call to go for it on 4th down at the end of the game rather than try a Hail Mary. By far, the best call of the season. The Bad: 1. No sacks despite getting some pressure on Tua. 2. Secondary can't cover anybody. Good quarterbacks will feast on them all season. 3. J. Taylor continues to be a major liability at right tackle. He may eventually get Lawrence hurt. 4. Too many false start penalties. 5. Need to start working in rookies more. Cisco and Little especially need more playing time since they need to be integral parts of the team's future. The Ugly: 1. Failing to kick the field goal early in the 4th quarter which would have given them a 7 point lead. Horrible decision which almost cost the team their first win in 21 games. 2. Jags should have put this game away much earlier. Nothing good ever comes easy to this team. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Not that I’d of made the same decision as urban on4th and 2, I’m kicking the field goal, but I can at least see the reasoning on being overly aggressive. We all know the defence can’t stop anyone, we have james Robinson who's very reliable and I can see how it was tempting to go up two scores ,
that said I think the problem with the series was the pass on 3rd n 2 if they knew they were going for it on4th down I’m giving Robinson 2 attempts to get those two yards. Calls will always be questioned when they don’t come off n praised when they do, we had a4th n 6 end of the first half the play before the touchdown throw if we fail there and they go up and score we’d all be criticising that call as well

Of the four main parts of a football team, running attack, passing attack, run defense, and pass defense, it seems like running attack, passing attack, and run defense are all pretty decent, but pass defense is incredibly bad. It's so bad I wonder if it's even possible to patch it up in any way this season. I don't see an adjustment we can make. Our linebackers are slow, our defensive backs are generally out of position and there's little pressure on the passer. We got lucky the Dolphins decided for some unknown reason to run the ball on 4th and 1, when they were getting receivers wide open all game long, no one within 5 yards of them.
The Dolphins were bone-headed idiots for calling a running play on 4th and 1. We have a pretty good run defense and zero pass defense. I don't care that it was only a yard, it would have been an easy first down for them passing the ball. What a stroke of luck for us.

Game ball goes to Brian Flores. Those two challenges to burn his timeouts were clutch.
I thought they might get one since we are the jags and giving obvious bad booth reviews seems par for the course for the refs now a days,

Game ball to whatever Dolphins coach called a running play on 4th and 1, when we couldn't stop a pass to save our lives. All they had to do was drop back and throw to the TE for an easy 1st down. Flores was beside himself. He’s used to, and expects, the zebras to screw the Jags.

However, what pissed me off more is the two play calls on 3rd and a little less than 2. If you're determined to go for it on 4th down, why are you not going run-run and 3rd and 4th? ![]() (10-18-2021, 08:24 AM)RicoTx Wrote:100% agree.(10-17-2021, 06:59 PM)jaglou53 Wrote: The Good: In most situations, I'm all for going for it on 4th down. However in this case, kicking the field goal to go up 7 it a no brainer.
Good
Getting a win, and getting home from church in time to watch it live Jags got calls to go their way? What is this madness? TLaw continues to prove why he was the number one pick. The run game looks great, I don't remember JRob showing this much burst last year Wright is off to a good start, the first kick was a little sketchy, but the second was without a doubt. Let's hope he keeps that up. Bad Where the heck are the rest of our rookies? Looks bad if they can't stay healthy or are too lacking to merit any playing time. Letting a cast of also-ran WR make plays all day. Could you imagine how different the game would have been with Parker and Fuller suited up? Ugly Watching Jawann Taylor. It's bad, real bad. The I dunno That slant. I didn't rewatch the end of game, but in real time, I felt we got SUPER lucky that a defender reacted and downed the receiver. Had they just let him sit on the turf, the clock could have run out on us before the officials whistled the play dead. If we ran the play into a defender so as to force contact when being downed, that's a little better, but I couldn't help but think that was banking on a LOT of luck to get downfield and attempt a literal last-second FG. It all worked out, though, @so the coaches are geniuses for the time being.@ I'd have probably just heaved up the hail mary with 0:05 on the clock. We show less advertisements to registered users. at the end of the game you didn't need them to down Laviska, he can give himself up and call a time out. If Trevor doesn't have the Arm he has that doesn't happen.
The Good:
Wright, Jones and Robinson The Bad: Not kicking the field goal to go up by 7. The Ugly: Pass defense (the interception was an underthrown ball missing an open WR) (10-18-2021, 06:37 AM)Craigukjag Wrote: Not that I’d of made the same decision as urban on4th and 2, I’m kicking the field goal, but I can at least see the reasoning on being overly aggressive. I can rationally argue both sides, but as I said in another thread I didnt have a problem with it. Kick the field and it's still a one score game. And I don't think the coaches (or many fans) had any belief we'd hold them to the 13 points they had at the time. Score a TD there and the game is likely over. But if you get stuffed on 4th down and you still have a good chance to win the game. This is a team lacking talent that needs a few breaks to win games. You get a chance for a potential kill shot. I say take it. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. We show less advertisements to registered users. What happened to the ravens style defense that was suppose to bring blitzes? This team is not good enough yet to sit back and bend all day. The blitzes need to come up the middle. The outside blitzing takes way too long to get there and never does if its even called

No different from previous years. (10-19-2021, 02:59 AM)Jag88 Wrote: What happened to the ravens style defense that was suppose to bring blitzes?
