Manziel vs Bridgewater
|
Also wouldn't the fact that Manziel had a bad defense actually help his numbers? He gets more possessions and he has to throw the ball all the time to catch up.

He gets more possessions and he has to throw the ball all the time to catch up.Wouldn't having a good defense (like TB had) also mean you are getting the ball back a lot as well.... More references http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/feioff http://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/plays-per-game Louisville ran 71.4 offensive plays per game and Texas A&M ran 73.8..... So this talk about Johnny get way more chances is bogus, he is more efficient at scoring points. Quote:All I have heard is TB excels in pre-snap reads and can adjust to what he sees the defense is doing. If that is the case, even if the staff is conservative with the play calling, is he unable to read a defense to know when to not run a running play?Pre Snap read does not always mean changing a run play to a pass play or a pass play to a run play, it also means finding the right match up in the pass play, changing a pass play to another pass play, giving your WR a hot route and then making the right throw and attacking the right matchups, its a whole lot of other things that go into that. If Bridgewater just goes up there and change run plays to pass plays just to pad his stats and not run the offense the coaches put in that would be a knock on him that he does his own thing.

Quote:Please explain....It forces the offense to stay aggresive and play catch up at times. That is why they had so many high scoring games. Take the super bowl for example. Thomas tied the record for receptions in the game, but overall he didnt play all that well. He just racked up stats and catches because the offense always had the gas on the pedal.

Quote:Wouldn't having a good defense (like TB had) also mean you are getting the ball back a lot as well....72 plays to 74 plays huh? Well how many passing attempts did Manziel have compared to Teddy? You can talk stats all you want but in college, didn't RG3 have better stats than Luck? And who ended being the better pro QB?
Manziel won't translate to a pocket passer in the NFL.
I don't want one of those Running-QB's. I want a pocket passer. I hope that's what Caldwell wants too. I don't think a running-QB will have long-term success in this league without an incredible team being built around him. Oddly enough, even Andy Dalton can succeed under those conditions.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:72 plays to 74 plays huh? Well how many passing attempts did Manziel have compared to Teddy? Manziel had 429 and Bridgewater had 427 passing attempts..... LOL....again Manziel is the more efficient scorer...... Quote:Manziel had 429 and Bridgewater had 427 passing attempts.....So was RG3 better than Luck in college? Quote:So was RG3 better than Luck in college?I don't have charts for their red zone scoring, red zone attempts, offensive TDs, and offensive posessions...but I think they were closer than what the stats show for TB and Manziel or it was in favor of Luck... You are welcome to look it up if that's the point you want to prove...
Quote:Manziel had 429 and Bridgewater had 427 passing attempts..... Manziel also had 9 more interceptions than Bridgewater. Including a game with 3 interceptions, which is almost as many as Bridgewater threw all year.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:I don't have charts for their red zone scoring, red zone attempts, offensive TDs, and offensive posessions...but I think they were closer than what the stats show for TB and Manziel or it was in favor of Luck...Hahaha that means you already looked it up. You already know RG3 had better college stats than Luck but you know that it doesn't help your argument, If we base everything off college stats then Timmy Chang should be the best QB in the NFL.
Quote:By your theories, RG3 was a better qb than Luck coming out That's not what I said..... I said I believe they were more similar or these stats favored Luck....
Quote:Hahaha that means you already looked it up. You already know RG3 had better college stats than Luck but you know that it doesn't help your argument, I haven't looked it up. I was proving a point about Manziel Vs TB.....you guys brought up Luck and RG3.....if you think you are right then look it up. I have no need to, I am talking Maziel vs TB

First one I found and it sounds an awful lot like Teddy vs Manziel. Especially with the rushing number, playmakers on both teams and the offense they ran in college.
Quote:http://athlonsports.com/nfl/andrew-luck-vs-robert-griffin-iii That shows none of the stats we are discussing.....try again Red zone attempts, red zone percentage, red zone scores, offensive TDs, number of offensive possessions, and number of pass attempts. Quote:Manziel had 429 and Bridgewater had 427 passing attempts..... Pass attempts does not specify the types of passes being thrown. I.e. conservative vs aggresive passing plays. Ok, Bridgewater had as many attempts, but I would bet more of them were short routes to play T.O.P. |
