IMO Chad Henne is going to walk as a free agent

Really no clue of football? You take a mediocre qb and compare to many years a electrifying one.

Henne will be sought by teams needing a backup.

Vick will be sought by teams needing a starter.

It's that simple.

Henne will be here.

I am willing to bet he's the starter come September too. I am not basing that on anything, but my gut says that the Jags don't take a QB in the first. I think they will take a guy at some point but will bring him along slowly, ala David Garrard.

I also am just fine with Henne for another season or two. I know he's not top tier, but I also don't think he's as bad as many here make him seem. No QB will come in here and transform this team into a juggernaut. There are too many holes still. I bet Caldwell solidifies more of the roster before plugging in his guy at QB. That, after all, gives his guy the best chance at success.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

LOL really? Who in their right minds would trade a draft pick for him? Stick a fork in him he is done. You can quote me on that.

We know we are going to suck with Henne or Gabbert back there so what difference does it make? I'd rather go fishing for a late round QB with little hope than know there is no hope with either of the two on the roster. We're going to have to take a QB in the 1st round to give ourselves a chance at a franchise guy but I wouldn't be opposed to taking another in later rounds too.

No matter who we draft, nobody will beat out Gabbert in practice. That's his thing.

I agree with that, too. What should help re-sign him, is that he's going to have it rough finding a shot at a starting job elsewhere. Here, he's got that shot.

I would rather have Henne as a back-up QB over Gabbert. Even though Henne's passes are usually intercepted or knocked down at least he throws the ball.

No pain, no gain.

Gabbert, Gabbert, Gabbert, Gabbert, Gabbert, Gabbert,Gabbert, Gabbert! Seriously though Blaine, you're really screwing me here. I stuck my neck out for you two years ago and bought a jersey and T shirt with your #/Name on it. I'm tired of being the laughing stock of my sports crazy circle. Make me look like a wise man or send me 100 doll hairs. Good day

If you're working under the assumption that we draft a QB after the first round with the idea of starting him somewhere between a month into the season and 2015, then I say it's better to go with the devil you know, than the devil you don't.

Remember Gabbert versus the Colts, Green Bay, Raiders before he got the injured labrum. He showed flashes. He's got the height, weight, arm strength, the prototypical traits scouts look for in a NFL QB. He's going to shock the world this upcoming season. I think Caldwell still thinks Gabbert can be something special, his Matt Ryan with a stronger arm.

Henne is a better back-up QB than Micahel Vick, and I'll stand by my opinion.

We'll see. Let's see just how much interest Vick gets from NFL teams. LOL.

Yes, actually. Henne is the Jaguars #1 F/A target.

Quote:Henne is better than Gabbert. I'm really sorry to say it, because I was hoping Blaine would be our QB, but after watching last season, Henne is MUCH better than Gabbert.

Experience is the only thing that Henne has over Gabbert...

Draft a Franchise QB Please..
