Bears release P Adam Podlesh

One thing that's likely is Adam Podlesh will sign with a team that has a stadium with much better weather conditions than Soldier Field typically has.    Regardless,  Podlesh likely won't be in the NFL much longer if he has a repeat of his 2013 season.

The Bears finally got tired of his 35 yard wobbly punts?

Maybe they'll draft a punter in the third. You know, since that's what teams do after they lose a punter of his quality.

No, they first must go through the grieving phase where they sign a 50 year old washed up punter.. Only then can they proceed to the anger phase
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

I loved it. Great post!

A-Pod was pretty good when he was here, is his leg strength really that weak?

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Chicago is one of the toughest places to kick in.

Yes.  Picking a punter in the third is a dead horse that when alive kicked you in the family jewels.  It's a pain you will never forget.  The horse may be long dead, but it's still therapeutic to continue beating it.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

That pick was the last straw for most anyone as a Jag fan. It will live in infamy. Gene built up quite a reserve of bad moves, but that one was worst (especially with Wilson right there), even worse than Alualu reach, as far as getting made fun of. And yeah Anger is good. But good punters can be gotten in the 7th round. Heck we had Steve Weatherford a couple years ago, he was an undrafted free agent, and he was decent.

Jaguar fans who live in J-ville don't know what its like to have to sit through that 2010 draft getting made fun of cause you overdrafted some no-name in the 1st, and then drafted 3 more d-linemen (who all busted besides Alualu). Its not easy. And then to have to do it again in 2012, well that was just brutal, but at least it was only the 3rd round that time.

I can't imagine having to kick outside in Chicago, especially with the early onset of winter. It's gotta be like kicking a cinder block. I thought he always did well here, and I wish him well.

There's nothing we can do about the Anger pick. Just sit back and watch our offensive weapon do his thing.

Podlesh has signed with Pittsburgh. Here's to hoping he does well there.

I think you're beating the wrong dead horse.  The player you're talking about is Anger.  A-Pod was the 2nd pick in the 4th round.  I remember it because the steelers picked a punter in that round too.  About 10 picks later.  There was a huge arguement here about if the steelers would have picked him.  So, a lot of people felt it was an ok pick.  i guess now we know that they probably did want him.

Something like that.  It's the only time related to football that I think I've ever been in legitimate shock.  Not hyperbolic shock, but the out of body, I can't believe that just happened shock.  Good times.

I'm surprised the Steelers picked him up after his struggles with the weather in Chicago. Good luck to him. Once those temperature drops and the winds go nuts, he'll need it to last the year.
