Chad Henne Signs Two Year Deal

(This post was last modified: 03-07-2014, 07:29 PM by The Mad Dog.)

Quote:I knew this thread would feature some meltdowns by specific posters, and they sure didn't disappoint.

Wow you call those meltdowns? Have you lived a sheltered life?

I saw a couple posters merely telling it like it is with their opinion on this Henne signing, and going against the usual clique grain (which almost universally take the front office side of any argument), thats all.

This = "meltdown" according to you?

Sign Michael Vick .... he is much better than Chad Henne and create some serious buzz at the same time.

Not a Vick fan here....but the above isn't going to happen now. Not a chance. They aren't signing 2 veteran QB.

Are the folks supporting this move doing it because it's the move that is convenient and maintains continuity for the team? I can understand that, but I certainly hope you all don't believe he is good do you?

"everyone", lol

You have a desperate need to be included/ accepted, don't you?

I didn't meltdown here with this one. Just gave my opinions on this Henne signing. There was no spazzing or yelling in CAP LETTERS or anything.

WingerDinger this wasn't a meltdown. More like a whine fest

I think that some of them delude themselves into believing that Henne is better than he is. Not necessarily "good" but just by reading some of the comments about some of the other options that would have been available gives you the indication that they see an inflated value on Henne's ability.

The meltdown will be shortly after the draft.

If you listened This Week to Jaguars Thursday ... They were saying it may be the best for the Jaguars to sign both Henne and Vick.  This way we dont have to draft a QB this year,  and if we do the new QB can sit the bench and learn

Quote:No worries, Gabbert will beat out Henne and the other QB's for the starting job during Aug training camp and preseason.
Yeah, that's how I see it.

I did not listen, but even so, I'd be shocked - more like flat out stunned if thats the way they decided to go to address the QB position this offseason. Vick & Henne would be an awful "solution", IMO.

Or maybe I'd classify those as meltdowns because I don't bemoan and whine over the silliest little things. To me, acting the way you do when the team doesn't play something exactly the way you'd like it to is a meltdown - but maybe I'm just a more stern person than you.

But whatever you're comfortable calling it, it's hilarious.

Quote:It doesn't matter who the backup is.

This isn't about who the backup is. You don't make signing a guy before he can get to free agency a priority if you're just thinking he's your backup.

Quote:Just like when the Dolphins re-signed their backup Matt Moore on the eve of free agency last year?

Quote:The dolphins already had their starter.

Signing your backup when you already have a set starter is just signing the backup.

Like I said, Caldwell figures there's a significant chance of going into the season with Henne as the QB, if that was not the case then there would be no incentive to sign him.

(Not to even mention Matt Moore is a much better QB than Henne)

Quote:Re-signing a backup is re-signing a backup. You and TMD can continue to twist anything to fit whatever schtick you're trying to play.

Minnesota re-signs Matt Cassel. Hmmmm.

Guess he must be their starter. They are out of the running for drafting a QB.

Did Ponder die?

So, you think Cassel will be their full time starter next year, huh? Care to commit to that?
