EVP on Back Burner

As seasoned veterans of their crafts, I believe Pederson and Baalke both have come to the realization that the only way for success -- both on a team and personal level -- is to work together. It sounds like they have collaborated to form a vision for the future that they feel will be very productive.
Khan seems to have bought into that vision and he's the one monitoring it up close. The great things about being a fan is we feel our voice can be heard through booing at the stadium, opining on social media chat forms or even dressing up as clowns. That's all well and good, but big picture is it won't dissuade the powers that be, who have a resolute faith in their plan. Because they know that if they have it right and steer the franchise back to greatness, even the greatest naysayers will be back on board. And I believe that's what's going on in Jacksonville at the present moment. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! As band members on the titanic, they realized they might as well keep playing music together because they were going down anyway so they should at least go down together. It isn't all doom and gloom to me. I am not hopeful and I am slightly above apathy right now. They have to prove it to me. I hate Urbz hiring but took a wait and see approach and we had a disaster dumpster fire of a season. We may not produce the same thing because there is potential for success but the same guy that bought you a draft of players that didn't see the field is still running the show. I don't need to bang on Baalke because his results speak for him. I am not in charge of the team so it will come down to me waiting and seeing again and again and again. Sorry I am not going to rah rah and all that. The owner has sucked and done everything wrong to this point.

We all have a choice and even though some of us feels that the team does, our team owned by Shad Khan doesn't owe us anything. Yes we need our team to positively produce on the field but continually getting beside yourselves won't help either. We as Fans DOES'NT have to wait on a particular team to get back to relevance. We can move on if we have the notion that I've had enough. True fans endure the good w/the bad. See Tampa, Cleveland, Dallas, Miami, Cincinnati, etc. Time Will Tell. NH3...
"AZANE"
Khan's announcement took me by surprise. I will continue to be a big supporter/fan of this team. I was an inaugural season ticker-holder and renewed my tickets annually despite the dreadful performance of the team for over a decade. It was literally painful to attend many of these games, but my hopes for a turn-around remained. The loyalty shown by myself and thousands of other ticket-holders has not been reciprocated. It was made very clear that Baalke was a liability for many reasons and that the overwhelming majority of fans wanted him gone. Yet he now feels this decision can be placed on the back-burner. I'll be watching the games from my home this season and continue to hope for the improved fortunes of this team. My guess is that many others will not renew for the same reasons. Maybe then Shad Khan will get the message.
My guess is that ticket sales won't waver too much. The majority of fans probably wouldn't base their purchasing decision on who the GM is. Especially this upcoming season with a new coach and Year 2 of TL. I'd be more inclined to keep my season tickets and make a profit by selling them on a secondary outlet.

One day maybe people won't care about [BLEEP] like sports.
Maybe one day we won't recognize the names of serial killers over astrophysicists and inventers. Ha.. Never.
Well. well. well. Doug seems to be a matter of fact calm individual. My hope is Baalkie realized the Jags are his last chance at this level and has learned from his previous issues. Stated another way, he will play nice for a time. Teflon executives have to control the information flow upwards. It looks like Doug has his guys on his staff and has a direct line to Kahn. This could work as long as Baalkie plays nice. Tony may be the interpreter.....
A new broom always sweeps clean.

This is where I am at as well. I would say if baalke is really causing you that much consternation then step out. I get it. We weary. I wonder how much longer I can support losing. But if it gets to that point I will just take a step back and breath.

Of the 9 games I had Szn.Tix for and could not attend over the past 3 years: I couldn't give away the tix for 4 of them - no one wanted them 2 of them sold at a small fraction of their value and the other 3 sold at or near value due to a large market/well-traveled fan base coming to town

My point was that the Jags have averaged 60-64 thousand in attendance the last 13 years. I highly doubt that number will change much for this upcoming season due to a few disgruntled fans. Even your tickets, though unfortunately you weren't able to sell, counted towards those figures. With a new head coach in place and a developing QB, fresh excitement will be generated and attendance will likely remain stable or increase. Since you (jaggedsioux) are new to Jacksonville stuff that is why I am trying to talk about our history and catch you up so you can understand why we post the way we do. We have tried rah rah and optimistic support and the owner just takes the everyday fan for granted. It has been a tough haul. Last year was like a big knee cap because we never ever picked first overall before and we got the guy and then messed it up.
