I mean, they keep doing the same thing over and over...paying premium prices (and then some) to non premium positions. When they start doing something different maybe the tune will change. I am not giving the benefit of the doubt to the back to back worst team in the league who is being led by the most hated man in the sport.

982 yards is close enough. It's like that one year Cecil Shorts missed the last game or two with a concussion and finished just shy of 1k. He's a thousand yard receiver imho, he was also a distant option behind Fitz & DHop for years. I think Kirk is just scratching the surface of his ability and should shine here.

It feels like we are shifting back to a 4-3.

It makes sense based on the 2 signings today. We have some pretty nice pieces to pull that off actually and Hutch seems like a better fit as an end.

Allen had his best year as an end. Jack’s best fit is olb in a 4-3.

I'm mean you are kind of correct, but outside of 2017 the Jags have been one of the worst franchises of the last decade. It is not like they will just get the perfect situation for their rebuild given NFL player priorities and what they think of Jax, other teams, Baalke, etc. 

Basically, cannot let the perfect be the enemy of good, especially for this team/franchise right now.

I think we've done all we could TBH. We've got cap space, Josh Allen is the only one of our players we will likely have to pay significant money in the next year or 2. What were we supposed to do? Sit on our hands again and hope there are better free agents to throw silly money at next year?

It is quite possible they have tried to go after those positions and the players are not interested or have even a higher premium. 

Plus like you have admitted, they needed upgrades at the positions they got as well. 

This franchise will never be run like the Steelers/Patriots no matter how much you want them to be.

I Like these additions. Still need a TE and a nickel. As we have seen other teams do for years, the money being thrown around just demolishes the veracity of a spending cap. Much in the way what science invents, science can circumvent. So can accountants with salary caps. With that said, go get those two positions and add another WR and Olineman. try and get Damian Wilson back ( or let Shaq and Russel split time) and kick Myles to OLB, add a nickel like Nelson and the defense is ready to rock

Not bad though with 103 targets and Murray missing 3 games in the regular season. Seems like he's on the up though. Only 25 and coming off his best year. Getting him for 4 years seems ideal. Could end up being a great fit in this offense. Still more work to do in free agency and the draft though. Would be happy with Christian Watson or Trey McBride at pick 33. I think Alec Pierce with his size and speed should be considered at 65 or 70 as well.

The bolded is a big point to make. 

I think his best days are ahead of him and that's saying something considering the season he just had. He definitely has some games where he's not consistent but he also has those big boom games. 18 million a year is a lot but it's FA and the FA WR class was limited. They were always going to have to shell out a ton.
