Those are simply things you cannot teach. That was going to be Lawrence's competitive edge regardless of draft stock. I've said this once and I'll say it again. If Minshew was starting material, by now, another former QB needy team would've paid up for his services of being their Starting QB. NH3...

Remember when people said 2 years ago that they wouldn't trade Minshew for Kyler? That was hilarious.

I wouldn't do the deal solely because I don't wanna pay Kyler what he thinks he's worth. Has nothing to do with what he can or can't do on the field. I guess if we were playing Madden or fantasy FB, sure, trade every day. Otherwise, there's more to it.

Actually, Trevor is a much better value than Kyler at this point of their careers. The Cards are going to have to dump salary in the coming years to account for Kyler's contract so they are in a win-now mode. Remember when Seattle had to dump their defensive players to offset Russell Wilson's huge contract? That will soon be happening to all of these teams that are signing QBs to big contracts (but maybe to a lesser extent since the salary cap will be increasing as well). Ultimately if you can continue to draft well and keep guys waiting in the hopper you can overcome a lot of guys being let go. It's just not that easy though for everybody unfortunately. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Minshew had a pro coach while Trevor had an imposter.

It just seems like once teams have enough tape on him, he's neutralized. That's what separates the greats from the rest. I do think that as of right n ow, you can argue that Minshew is a better NFL QB than Trevor. You could argue that but the overwhelming majority of football fans would say that's wrong. I'm a big Minshew fan, but there is no way I would ever consider starting him over Trevor Lawrence. Come on. ![]()

It seems like people think of Minshew through the amazing game he played against Denver. And that the Denver performance was how every game went back in the day.
But they completely Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Minded the game against the Panthers and the rest of the games he played. Minshew is no bueno, mi hombres. Dude caught lightning in a bottle for a few games. AND IT WAS AMAZING!!! Minshew mania was a helluva ride for about a month. And then it all crashed down. Stop chasing the dragon. Get off the white horse, get yourself cleaned up, shave off that mustache, take off those god awful jorts, turn in your Winnebago, take a shower, get rid of that mullet, put on some SPF 75 sunscreen, and enjoy the Sunshine that is Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence is a well rounded, decent dude that takes care of himself and takes pride in how he dresses, and is a god loving religious man with a wife. Wouldn't you rather be represented by a professional than a trashy slob that pretends that a porn mustache and week old unwashed clothes from the 70s is "cool"? LOL.

Minshew doesn't have the arm strength to execute the same game plan as Trevor. We'd have to run a whole different set of plays if he had to come in the game. And if he had to play several games in a row, we'd have to design a whole different offense just for him. That's why Trevor and Minshew don't go together as starter and backup.

Bruh, there's never been a QB that represents the spirit of the fan base the way that Minshew did. He's Jacksonville's Quarterback, just not the Jacksonville Jaguars' Quarterback. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
