It took 100mph + winds for 4 or 5 hours.  All the cameras are down of course - so I can't see it - and nearby residents can't get to it yet for down trees, flooding and still bad wind at this hour.
It's an outdoor covered pavilion space. Basically like a 25K sq.ft metal structure warehouse with a roof but no walls.
I fully expect lots of damage,  months worth of insurance haggling, and weeks worth of repair.
Leaving Jax Saturday morning to head down and begin putting it back together.
Sad

NYC checks in safe during Hurricane Ian.  Glad to hear, Man.  Sorry 'bout the place.

Looks like the structure survived, but we have damage to deal with. Still accounting for staff.
We have a skeleton crew there now on a generator preparing meals for displaced people in the community and power line workers who are making their way in to restore power.

Lots of damages to homes in the area and the mobile home/RV/trailer parks are half razed to the ground. Most of those folks evacuate, but ...

We didn't get hit too bad.  lost power this morning at around 9:30.  I fired up the generator at around 12:30 to mainly run the refrigerator (got to keep the beer cold) and the deep freezer not to mention our well.

I am concerned though because family members took a direct hit (around Ft. Meyers area) and last we heard they lost the roof on their home.  Haven't heard anything today.

Before anyone asks why they didn't evacuate... two of the husbands are law enforcement officers and two of the children are lineman.  They are "essential" personnel.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Ian has just been declared a hurricane again and is headed for South Carolina.

My wife's dad and step mom recently moved to Ft. Myers, just under a year ago. I'm not sure how far inland they are, but they built a house and the community/builders required all of the new state of the art hurricane shutters, windows, etc. etc. Good thing they did, they rode the storm out just fine, only lost power and water, but had prepared with plenty of supplies to last.

The devastation down there is insane.

JIB and Kingingram, thoughts  and prayers for both your families as well as others who may have family in the affected areas.  This one was a [BLEEP] for a lot of people not used to it.
