Trevor Lawrence Discussion (merged)

Anyone who is actually reasonable would have some concern about him because he's had a few plays that resulted in a horrible outcome for our team that nullify the good that he may have displayed leading up to it. But it works both ways, can't lean on either extreme on the debate and at the end of the day, hes a 22 year old 2nd year starting QB on a 3-14 team. This will take time but I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm just ready for him to really show out with a statement game and I was hoping that the additions of CKirk and Zay would allow him to do that. Trevor NEEDS to step it up though. Trevor isn't the answer, unfortunately. We'll draft another QB in a couple years after a .250 season.

My take on the situation is that if he's one of the better quarterbacks when the pocket is clean then it's very telling how he's performing when that's not the case. We're not talking about 'all Quarterbacks are worse under pressure'. We're talking about how Trev is under pressure: awful.
you can see how much confidence the staff has with him, they take zero shots down field unless they have to.
I'm ready to move on, he lost last weeks game and he pretty much lost this one.
He doesn't have it, he is better than the QBs the Jags have had but he isn't going to lead the team.
He has predetermined everything today and is missing wide open WRs. He also isn't accurate enough to throw medium depth passes. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I’ve about had enough of this garbage QB. He had some good games in weeks 2 & 3 and I understand he didn’t need to win the game for us but even in those games he looked like a game manager who just did what he had to while the team won the game.
Last week I’ll give an exception to considering the rain and the fumbles. Just no excuses today. That last 4th down play. Why would you throw such a low percentage pass when the game is on the line? Just terrible decision making. It’s sad to say and I hope I’m proven wrong but this guy just can’t seem to do it. There hasn’t been a single time when he’s taken over a game and at least given us a chance to win, like most #1 picks are expected to do.

The second one is clearly not something they want to do. That shrinks the playbook and helps the other defense
Can't even get into position for a hail mary and the entire Texans defense playing prevent. Just pathetic.

He has enough weapons, and an offensive minded coach. The excuses are beginning to dwindle. He’s verging on bust territory We show less advertisements to registered users. hats off to tony elliot for making this guy look like a generational quarterback, that dude is an offensive mastermind.

Honeymoon is clearly over. ;-) Too bad the BOAT retired recently, we could use him, lol.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I'm not making excuses for him at all because he's definitely contributed to the crap product on the field. I will say though, last year was an absolute debacle and this team was completely devoid of talent outside of JRob - which is why I thought bringing in Kirk and Zay would possibly change things up positively. Again, Trevor is certainly not the savior that some in the national media have proclaimed, but he joined the worst team in the NFL with no talent. Its time for him to step up or the seat WILL and SHOULD be getting hotter for him. Most thought the tinhorns game would be a good opportunity for him to display that statement game but to no avail - and it mainly falls on Trevor this time. 2 points. 1-TLaw is in the bottom half of starting QBs in the league. 2-his play is greatly improved from last year.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
