Regardless of how solid his performance was. The reality is that, he took 10:00 minutes off the clock in the 4th quarter, went all the way downfield and scored a TD to take the lead with a little more than 2:00 minutes. Correction The Defence got outplayed by a 39year old grandpa
What last game proved to all of us is that if the JAX are going to win games is going have to be led by our two good runnings backs and maybe a solid? defense.... some days.....
Pederson should really consider switching our run and pass ratio in favor of the running game. This team is not a PASS first team because we don't have the QB for it. We need to kill other teams by running the ball and maybe limiting Trevors chances of making stupid mistakes like throwing picks or taking sacks. Even the last drive that led to the TD was set up by the run. The faster Pederson realizes this is the better. Let's see, Reggie Wayne way past his prime. The biggest weapon he had was TY Hilton. They were historicially the worst team to go 11-5 that year. Luck winning 4 playoff games with that garbage is impressive itself. He was ranked top 10 QB both in 2012 and 2013. Better than Lawrence. You are defeated. Have a good day. And please never ever talk about the QB position. You are outclassed. (10-17-2022, 04:46 PM)StrayaJag Wrote:Trevor had like 59 passing yards in the first half. It means that TL wasn’t firing the ball in like a rocket and making it difficult to catch. Only one incompletion for a short pass (<15 yards). Discouraging is that deep balls (15+ yards) were only tried 3 times (14% of attempts). I know the run game was successful, but that sort of ratio will see JAX increasingly facing stacked boxes. Until the deep ball forces opponents to play more honestly, they will not need to fear the long ball. Particularly if they feel they can score a reasonable amount in return. But you have to start somewhere and I think it is wise for Pederson to pursue a ‘die slowly’ plan that will keep you in a game rather than try to create a more balanced passing attack which we have seen is not reliable. If JAX settles too predictably into a run or short pass only scheme, then they will be far too easy to keep in check as the season progresses. Still, you have to make completions to have an offence so this is a start. If TL can consistently deliver this performance then he can start adding to it in the second half. We’ll see if that happens. As to people complaining that TL critics are expecting him to do everything… this is the NFL right? 90% or more of a team’s success rests solely on the QB’s shoulders. Ask Barry Sanders or Walter Payton about that. Metcalf may have some ideas. At the top level the QB is the man. His performance sets the ceiling for the team’s performance. That’s how it is and why they get paid all the biggest bucks. Facts.

I wouldn't say anyone that criticizes him isn't a real fan. I've criticized him. I've praised him. I'm not as big on the hype that some of you are though. And I don't put this last loss on him.

Its how they post in general which makes it obvious they actually aren't real fans of this team. They just harp on Lawrence because its the easiest way to get responses from some people on here, which is exactly what they want. But honestly dude, sad attempt at an insult. Just print yourself a t-shirt that says "I can't pull" and people will understand you, even the ones that are all in the Trevor hype train.... But then again you are forgiven. This franchise has offered us [BLEEP] QB play for decades that we tend to forget what real QB play looks like. |
