So, if we're looking for positive points, as the title says, it seems to me that, unlike last year, we have the components necessary to win games.  We're just not winning them.  We rack up yardage on offense, but fail to score enough points, and we hold the other team down on defense, until we give up that late TD that loses the game for us.  We're close.  I think we're as good as the Giants, but they're 6-1 and we're 2-5.  It's very frustrating, but I think we're close.  It comes down to making one more key play per game. 

I know this is spin, but if we're looking for positive points, that's one way to spin it.

I don’t think it’s so much making key plays but rather minimizing mistakes. We had one, and possibly two, TDs left on the field because of player flubs. The for sure score was the pass floated by Lawrence to Marvin Jone (?) in the end zone. That was a pass high school QBs should make. The other was the fumble by ETN a few yards shy of the goal line. 

While we are playing better football, it’s just a comedy of errors every week that is keeping us in the L zone.

Doug Pederson isn’t without fault. For one, this is two games where we have been robbed of a critical first down because of bad ball placement by the refs. Throw the damn challenge flag, Doug.

For me the biggest thing holding us back right now is the mental errors, penalties and execution. When we limit the mistakes and execute well we get games like the Chargers game, when we don't we get games like the last 4. I put this down to a young roster, playing a 1st year together with a 1st year coaching staff. Maybe all the doomsayers are right, time will tell.

But I thought the O played well today. The run game is a real strength that we need to use more. We are moving the ball well, sadly the lack of turnovers keep giving us long fields to drive. But we had the Etienne fumble which hurt us, the turnover on downs hurt us. I love Dougs aggressiveness but we need to add points on the board  I get not settling for 3's but you need to read the situation. These are the mental errors and execution that are hurting us.

I still think the arrow is pointing up for this team and will get better with time, experience and drafts and FA additions. It's not a one offseason turnaround.

ALOT of Jaguar Fans doesn't get this. It's the Here and Now for them because of the past ten years. You Must understand that true success will take time. The system and the team is still young.

The Giants and the Jets.  Giants have a first year head coach and a new system, Jets with a 2nd year HC.  We have a 2nd year QB that has elite talents, a SB winning coach and set the FA spending record with veterans. Yesterday wasnt their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th game together.  We had 4 Preseason games as well where the starters seen a little action in every one.

We are 4 for 14 on 4th downs.  He's at fault as much or more than anyone for not taking points, not throwing the challenge flag and not running the football when that is our strength

We need to STOP going for it on 4th and 1. Point blank. We never convert them and haven’t since like 2017. We have an All Pro RG we broke the bank for … that we don’t run behind. We have a rookie center and a backup LG, if we can’t control the interior gaps how do we expect to convert short yardage when the opposing DLine controls our A Gaps and we get zero push.

This isn’t a “learn how to do it” or get experience to improve at something we’re weak at to turn it into a strength. It’s a lack of self awareness as a team and as a HC. It kills drives and takes points off the board, we are not good enough to impose our will on another team yet.

I agree they should have gone for the FG.  You take the points in that situation.  But near midfield it's a little different.  There the decision is punt or go for it, and we've had success going for it there.

Lack of balance offensively. Overly aggressive leaving points off the scoreboard. Not calling the easy plays that are more than likely there as they were already proven successful earlier in the game.

I think that’s a very big part of it. I also think he’s trying to force feed confidence into the young offense/qb. Of course I think taking points and leaning on the run game a bit more would accomplish the same thing, but who knows.

Next year is a more realistic chance for playoffs though. AFC south will be even worse by then. Henry will be old, Matt Ryan probably retired. Need to keep developing and give the fans some moments to root for now though.

The Jets might start losing some more because they just lost arguably their best player.  Giants just lost 2 starters on the oline and have been without their 2 best WRs. They are getting hit with injuries but both have 2 really good teams that are well coached and should make the playoffs

1. This team is beating themselves. They are not beaten by the other team. Stupid penalties and narrow misses chances are the main factors. Once we figure that out the wins will come.

2. It is clear there are many holes on this team. This years record should get us more high draft fire Power.

3. The team is competive. This team has been in every game this year.

4. We have an answer at Head Coach. Most of the losses comes down to the team failing to execute. Too many missed throws.

5. Lawrence is getting better. He is starting to put some finese on the ball. Yes he missed 2 TDs but he is making the right reads. Buffalo's Josh Allen had trouble with accuracy early in his career. In time Lawrence will get more consistent with ball placement. 

6. ETN looks to be worth the first round pick. He has become a playmaker recently. Yes he fell on that last play in the fourth quarter. He broke several big plays.

1. This team is making so many stupid [BLEEP] mistakes. It is maddening how many game breaking roughing the passer calls we have had. Three games in a row.

At this point, I'm so sick of watching the NFL for that reason (all across the league).  Personally, I also think the Giants got screwed on penalties during the last Jags drive as well --- just takes the fun out of watching the games.

We’re 2-2 against AFC opponents. 0-3 against the NFC. The good news, assuming we can start stringing together some wins, is that those NFC losses will mean very little if it gets to tie breakers for a 7 seed.

I don’t see the jets making the playoffs and they currently hold one of the spots. We also have H2H against the chargers. Need to win one we’re not supposed to like maybe the ravens or chiefs games. Need to win the next 2 obviously as well.
