*** Official Game Thread - Week 8 - donks @ Jags ***

I said it last week and I'll say it again: Trevor plays like a kid. Like a gifted kid playing with grown men. He has no fire or swag. Is he a dweeb in real life? A INT on the 1st play???? GTFOH!
It's useless having the tools if you can't use them. He's not a generational QB. He's a QB that had talent around him in school. He isn't capable of putting a team on his back. Until he grows up mentally and shows otherwise. And Caldwell and the D socks. Because they can't get it done when it counts! No use looking good and getting sacks if you can't do it in key moments. NONE of the CBs can play M2M...why are they in that coverage in key moments? Get Caldwell the bleep outta here! We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! They also have arguably the best Defense in the league as well. Their Offense this year isn't modern, it stinks bad. They've struggled to score all season until today. You obviously don't know just how BAD that Denver Offense has been this season. (10-30-2022, 12:58 PM)homebiscuit Wrote:(10-30-2022, 12:53 PM)Eric1 Wrote: It's really not though lol. Hes got at least another 1 1/2 seasons to prove his worth. We'd have a couple more wins if the Defense could hold a lead and close out a game in the final minutes for once.
Both offence and defence to blame. You just knew Denver were going to drive the field and win at the end. The d just can't get a stop when it matters at the end. They'll also get plenty of opportunities to blow the final drive when the offence can't score 20 points.

Dude, it’s not rational to call a player a bust in his 2nd season, ESPECIALLY when he’s already had to learn 2 completely different systems. Even worst is that we let the WORSE HC in NFL history screw up his first season completely with no development at all. You start calling a QB a bust when the guy has been under the same coach for a least two years and doesn’t progress in that 2nd or 3rd season. Our fanbase is acting like this because of our experience with drafting 1st round QBs and in the back of our minds, we expect every QB that comes here to fail, so we rush to judgment because we believe we’ve seen this all before without understanding exactly why. Also, take a look at the rest of the QBs drafted in his class. NONE of them are putting up Trevor’s numbers - even Zach Wilson (they’re winning because their defense is making plays).
It's like this defense has regressed and so has Trevor. We have a coach that made Wentz a MVP caliber QB and won a SB with Foles and Trevor looks like [BLEEP]. Very concerning

Best part of having a Superstar like Trevor under center is the after game excuses for him. That and seeing who gets to be the new scapegoat each week when we lose. Myself, I like to see the blame spread equally around as I think it builds character for the rest of the team to take a turn falling on their sword for him.

LMAO excuses....I guess we have to dumb it down... did or did not Trevor get the touchdown to take the lead...and has in a few games...was it or was it not the defense blew that lead with minutes left in multiple games

He was the first pick overall and in the middle of his 2nd year. He's had 4 TDs and 5 INTs in his last 5 games and a bunch of fumbles. He hasnt been plaing good enough and throws too many costly INTs
Trevor played absolute trash again. Not sure what game you were watching. I was in the stadium. He misses wide open receivers constantly

Hm, I think we don't see eye to eye. I bet you are a well done kinda guy, you have to be to think 21 is cooking a defense in 2022. I'm not fully excusing our defense, but you have to put up more than 17 to expect to win. We would have even more wins if Trevor wasn't making so many unforced errors that allow the defense to be put into those situations in the first place.. Even when the defense gives up the go ahead score late, Trevor hasn't shown he can finish a game with a game winning drive. On defense there are different people making mistakes at different times. On offense, it's almost always Trevor who is making the key mistakes. All the time. Go see how many drives Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, and the truly elite QBs of the last eras come back in that exact scenario. You can't be called a generational talent and not put up generational results. I can remember all the Manning years we would go up with 2:xx left in the game and it was like clockwork - We left Manning too much time, he'd dink us/dunk us quickly down the field and score. That's what generational QBs do.

Trevor sure put them in the situation to give up a 99 yard TD drive with ease huh. Literally one of the easiest 99 yard drives you'll ever see against the worst Offense in the NFL. It's sad that we have to expect Trevor to lead the team on a game winning drive in 40 seconds every single week. The Offense does their part, takes the lead in the final minutes, only for the Defense to consistently [BLEEP] the bed and let the other team go right down the field and take the lead back. They're professionals on Defense who get paid (some A LOT more) just like Trevor does. Make a [BLEEP] stop for once and close out a game. And it's not almost always Trevor, his just get magnified because he's the QB. The OL and receivers have their share of mistakes every week just like Trevor. Same with the coaches.
