Im not judging it based on stats, but rather what i actually saw. Hes had games with a high completion pct and also had multiple over throws. Today i cant remember him making a poor throw. Statistically speaking his game against the colts was better but when you actually watch the game i think we can all agree this performance was more impressive because not only did he play great, he did it knowing he had to make those plays to win the game. Unlike the colts game where they scored 0 points and much of his play was just relaxed game manager type stuff.


The game today was the sort of thing ive been hoping we would see. Just hope it continues

100% agree. He makes throws now that we hoped Bortles could eventually get to. Think some have forgotten how bad some of our QB's have been. They get too hung up on this 'generational talent' tag that draft people put on him and expect absolute perfection on every throw, play and week. 

Lawrence will be a star, just got to be patient. I have no doubts.

Yeah it was. That duck to avoid the sack was beautiful and then the throw was right on the money. You can try and teach those things but you can either do it or you can't and our QB is growing. Can't wait to see him get better and better. 

Don't know how any Jags fan can't be excited after his performance today. We came back from a 17 point deficit!

I agree certain fans took that generational talent and thought he would come in and we would be undefeated and never lose a game.... It takes time especially on a team that was so horrendous in the past

Exactly. I get why he got given that tag. Lost 2 games in 3 years at Clemson and was the next big thing ever since he won that National Championship but like you say, this was a baaaaad team. #1 pick 2 years in a row, clown show that was Urban Meyer and he's just turned 23. I get that it's a now league but we aren't in a SB window and only have a team for a year or two before we have to rebuild it, we are building that playoff and hopefully SB team and an elite QB is the hardest part to find but I think we may have one. Just going to take time.

That's an impressive and depressing stat.

The TD throw to Kirk was perfect and the throw he get lit up by Farrell was huge. Knew he was going to take the hit but made the play.

Best throw of the game was that throw to Marvin where he almost took a safety but avoided it and threw a perfect ball.

Absolute DIME.

And the way he kept his eyes down field the whole time while just casually sliding away from the rusher. Had guys in his face/takes a hit on the throw as well. Absolutely special. Can't teach that kind of stuff.

What impressed me today was Lawrence running the ball. That indicated to me frustration has led him to extend plays with his legs when his reads come up dry. Before he would run back and forth trying to find a receiver and most likely would force a risky throw or just toss it out of bounds. It also indicates he's getting his eyes on a swivel. We've seen it on game breakdowns this season when there was a run option for him, but he became so focused downfield that an open flat went unseen. His eyes are getting up, out and down. Is it next level? Not really, but it's a start for improvement.

My only reservations about him running are while he's pretty fast, he's on the slender side. There's nothing a stout DE would like more than to get a good heavy shoulder into him.

The TD pass to Kirk was a thing of beauty. My line of sight was directly over Lawrence to that corner of the end zone, the play scheme was obvious. I was up cheering before the ball got to Kirk.

Today he seemed to recognise that quicker and just took off and got good gains. Etienne having a great game also helped as Oakland had to still play the run even with the big lead.

He seemed to get the confidence going today and once the O got moving he was making more and more plays.

His confidence was definitely up today, especially the second half. I don't know what Doug said to the team at halftime, but their level of play changed dramatically. The crowd played into it as well. Lots of Raider fans there and they were even starting chants of "Let's go Raiders" while the Jags fans were subdued because they looked like the same old stuff in the first half. Once they made a few good plays in the second half, the crowd really started to support them, and the Raiders fans became the Faiders.

The team has never had a QB with the kind of talent Trevor has, and we have a bunch of "fans" looking to bring the backup into the game rather than let Trevor continues to develop.

Honestly, I think that's more out of frustration than anything else. Dude definitely has a boatload of innate talent. There will be future games were we'll be scratching our heads too but those should be fewer and fewer as time goes by.

Yeah the crowd really came through on the TV. Was a bit worried first half when the boos started but by the 4th Q it was LOUD! So great to hear it like that. 

It seemed those 10 points before the half and the 7 to open the 3rd just gave them life. D started to get stops and quiet Adams and Oakland just couldn't do anything. 

Nice to hear it sound like a proper home game but I guess that happens when you give fans something to cheer
