Obviously you don't want to injure someone, but just because it's a pattern of big hits doesn't mean it should get flagged more than someone else. You're correct that it will happen. Cisco broke up 2 huge plays that would have ended the game in KC. Until they put flags around the waists of WR,TE, and RB we're still playing football. Our secondary plays. And they are live. The problem is pass rush. That's the weak link right now. Just because our pass rush is weak doesn't confirm your "defense is irrelevant" hot take. Though I'm sure Dan Lebetard and Jim Rome would fawn all over your keen perception. (11-18-2022, 12:52 PM)imtheblkranger Wrote:I don't like the idea of playing "wrap up". You shouldn't be able to get away with this [BLEEP] over the middle the way today's offenses do and if refs are going to throw flags on critical 3rd and long situations where QB's are now emboldened with receivers to make those throws into traffic? They need to be reviewed just like they were with Cisco's two incidents. Flags were picked up on both hits. I think it's a good start. However, again, defenders should be able to hit players mid flight and catching attempts. The entire game is catered to them now. On the first hit, Cisco's helmet is standing still and it is clearly the Chief's player's helmet that moves towards and ultimately hits Cisco. I agree with those that say, if anything, it was a penalty on the Chiefs.

I suspect helmets will change to look more like the training helmets they were using in training camp this year. Players will look like the Great Gazoo.
