Nah If you lied 6 times a day about your awful takes that we all waded through for 20+ months - I'd give you or anyone the same treatment. You own up to yours for the most part. You just don't like seeing it because you bashed the kid too.
Damn, I really thought maybe THIS would be the time that he quit talking about it.

It seemed in the last game against the Texans Lawrence struggled to find the touch for the "honey hole" areas- the passes either sailed too high for the receivers or were too strong and low, giving the dbs time to interrupt the catch. If the Texans come out with the same strategy I would like to see if he's developed the touch to drop the passes in for the catch.

Still yet to see where I called him a bust and he absolutely was one of the worst QBs in the NFL last year. 12 tds 17 ints and a 50 some odd percent cmp percentage dosen't exactly inspire faith on a team that seemingly had no talent going into this season. Like I said, he got dramatically better this season. He didn't go from great to super great, he went from bad to really good. If you literally find 17 ways to say he sucks and find 17 ways to say he doesn't suck, you'll always have some sort of bull [BLEEP] to fall back on I guess. Dumb [BLEEP] literally just posted "I never said he sucks" in the past few days - LOL - but there it is. Piece of advice to the whining backpedalers: If you don't want to get called out on your [BLEEP], stop lying about it And he didn't go from "bad to really good." He went from rookie in a crap situation, to 2nd year player in a good situation. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Gentlemen, we have a Quarterback now, it has been a very long time since we could say that. I cannot honestly say whether he is a generational talent or a franchise QB. That will be written in the next few years. I do know it is going to be fun watching this as it unfolds! Strap in guys the next few years are going to be really fun.

But I’m sure you’ll have some way to twist that around. Perhaps it was because he was a rookie and in a bad situation, but he was still bad. Takeaway the horrible coaching and talent around him and he still made unbelievably bad decisions and horrible unexcuseable inaccurate passes. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that it was the situation for now, as he's currently showing that he CAN be that guy. But when i'm told that he was bad simply because of his situation when I watch him make the same mistakes he did in college in a damn near perfect situation, it's hard for me to say that it's 100% on the situation he's in, and not partly on him. And when I said I have no faith I was discussing this current season, and pointing out that I hadn't seen enough personally from him in his rookie year to expect much this year coupled with the fact that our team was void of talent. This ofcourse was posted prior to free agency/Doug Pedersons hiring/Draft Etc etc. I don't think I was the only person who didn't think this season was going to be what it is now, hell I don't think anyone expected us to be where we are now a month ago. But, he has absolutely grown into a guy over the past couple of months and has certainly exceeded any expectations (remember, in the crow thread I predicted 22 TDs 15 ints, which by all accounts is pretty close considering he has 15 turnovers this season and 24 TDs) so it's not like I didn't expect some growth from him, but I wasn't expecting him to start checking all the boxes, game winning drives, being down big and making a comeback etc etc. He's been good. He's gotten much better with this, he struggled mightily his first year with poor accuracy specificly high balls. And has had his issues this year aswell with the same thing but he has absolutely toned it down to a point where we can be a bit more comfortable with it when it does happen because it's not happening every drive anymore. Strap in guys the next few years are going to be really fun. I figured he'd mature into a decent franchise QB even though he had some very shaky games last year and even the first half of this year. I'd written him off as a generational talent though. Like you, I still dunno if he'll really be that or not but good gravy, if he continues to play like he has in the second half of this season, it's definitely within the realm of possibility. So great for the Jags to finally get The Man!

And the perfect head coach to go with him. I'm right there with you, Marty. The loyal Jag fans who have suffered through 14 years of painful losing with the exception of 2017 deserve this! We were extremely fortunate to have Lawrence fall into our laps after the Jets blew the first pick. We were also fortunate to find a coach who is perfect for Trevor and one of the most creative play callers in the NFL. This reminds me a little of the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise. They have been around much longer than the Jaguars, but their fans suffered through 25 year playoff draught from 1947 until 1972. Once they finally tasted victory, there was no stopping them. With today's salary cap demands, it will be very difficult for teams to replicate what the Steelers did or even the Patriots in more recent times. Regardless, if I was asked which current team has the greatest chance at long-time success, it would be the Jaguars. The Chiefs, Bengals and Bills are the others due to the quarterbacks which are leading them. Let's enjoy the ride!

CJB, for the love of all things holy, can you just admit you were wrong so we ALL can get past this? Although you may have gone past the point of no return, you’ll save more dignity and face admitting an error that attempting to argue your way out of it. You’re not a Harvard lawyer. We have elephants that never forget. I’m not taking sides, mainly because I have to hear both sides and I only read about 1/4 of your posts. I also understand emotions are high, especially the game threads. And any comments made during the UM experiment should be forgiven. This year is another story. I don’t care to look at time stamps and [BLEEP]. The sooner you own up, the sooner everyone gets off to [BLEEP]! Let’s please talk about how well TL is playing and the potential playoffs as opposed to bickering. The future in Jacksonville is bright. You’re either in or out. Let’s [BLEEP] GO!
It is pretty crazy. Having Lawrence. Having Pederson. Feels like a teal tidal wave of dominance is imminent in this division at the minimum.
I have been telling people not to drink the teal koolaid yet. Thats only because I already had two gallons to myself and it's so good I dont want anybody else to know where it's at on sale. This doesn't feel like a little flicker of a light bulb or a flash in the pan. I think some fans get it and some other's get it but are terrified of it. We could be looking at a legit, well above .500 on average, always in the conversation, always hovering around the top ten team discussion for the next TEN or MORE years. Going to be fun. Deep playoff runs. That’s what we can expect. AFC is loaded at QB with Mahomes, Allen, Burrow and Herbert but now you can add Trevor to the mix. Feels fantastic. I personally don’t care for the back and forth about who was more right than the other or shoving it in one’s face. But I’ve been on and reading this board long enough to know how it all goes. CJB isn’t doing himself any favors, though. Despite admitting his wrongdoing. Not that I agree with the push back he gets. I just want to hear more talk about how we have the right coach and QB to win the next 10 division titles. Let bygones be bygones and let franchise QB’s be franchise QB’s. While it's difficult to know how the future will unfold, it seems plausible that the Jags will have the best QB in the division for the next few years at least. How the FO can continue to supplement him and identify talent after they have to sign him to the future mega-contract they'll have to sign him to (500 million? More?) will be a legitimate question but that's for another year. Right now we're having a blast.
