Not even sure of the terms, just saw the headline and am surprised he landed a gig so soon.

This might be Derek Cox's last opportunity to get his NFL career going.    If Cox performs close to the way he did in San Diego,  it's likely over for him.

The Vikings made what looks like a more significant move at CB earlier today,  by signing Panthers UFA Captain Munerlyn.   My guess is he will used in the Nickel position in 3 CB formations,  even if he's a starting CB.

What does the Vikings CB depth chart look like?

A lot of people last year was hoping Xaviere Rhodes would fall to us in the 2nd but Gratz had the better season when he was healthy who we got in the 3rd

Xavier Rhodes should be one starter.   It looks like the Vikings aren't interested in retaining former high 2nd Round pick Chris Cook,  who has no career takeaways.

In addition to the CB's they signed today,   they still have Josh Robinson,  who was a high 3rd Round pick a couple of years ago.  His career has been spotty at best.

Marcus Sherels,  who is more known for his Punt Returning,  also is in the mix at CB.

Rhodes has the most upside of the group.   Munerlyn will at worst be in the nickel package and might even end up starting.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Vikings used a 1st or 2nd day draft selection on a CB.

Mike Zimmer saved the career of one former Jaguar DB in Reggie Nelson. Maybe he'll do it again.

Great point.

Mike Zimmer has a history of getting underproducing players to play much closer to his potential.

Cox gets another shot because he wasn't bad in Jax...but another bad season and he's done

On a one-year deal, the Vikings could've done a lot worse than a once upon a time half-decent corner who occasionally flashed in JAX.

Cox is great like one game a year.
Only a chump boos the home team!

I wonder if he'll make it to the final roster for the vikings.

I can't believe he's still in the league.  I doubt it's coaching, probably more like hiding behind better players around (and in front of) him.

Here, he was master of patting the guy who was already tackled.

As expected,  Chris Cook signed with another team ( 49ers ).   While Derek Cox has many hurdles ahead in his quest to make the Vikings 53 man roster and remain on the roster,  the removal of Cook from the equation currently lessens the competition for Cox:

Don't get me started on Derek Cox, 2nd team all Colonial C onference during his Sr. Year.

what was his contract that he signed in SD? Wasn't it like a three or four year contract i thought that grossly overpaid him? How much of a cap hit for them was that?

I thought he was pretty good here. I still remember that end zone interception of Manning. He just couldn't stay healthy.

He was, he just couldn't stay healthy.

Remember when most people on here thought Reggie Nelson was a bust?

He wasn't.
