Jags trade for Calvin Ridley

This is what I never understood. Same with Pete Rose. If you're betting on your own team to win, where's the harm? Essentially you're betting on your team to win every Sunday you step on the field and get a paycheck.

I understand the "slippery slope, could evolve into more" argument. But just betting on your own team to WIN is a non-issue for me. Players can play fantasy football though which I think lends itself much more to affecting games than just win or lose. Just so much irony and double standards round the whole thing.

Really? The guy who decides which receiver scores a touchdown can play fantasy football? That should not be allowed, honestly.  Who would ever join a league with a QB or OC?  And what's the interest anyways? They play the real version!
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

One could let the opposition know of the bet placed and offer to cut them in on the job. That way could (COULD) do more harm by spreading the corruption rather than keeping it contained to the bettor's team. Like killing Caesar, everybody takes a stab and gets a cut.

Once Ridley gets reinstated, it's all about who plays WR 4 after him, Kirk, and Jones. Agnew is 5. MJJ will be gone.

I dunno, I'm not automatically putting Agnew at WR5.  They started using him more and more at WR as the season went on.  We shall see

I don't think it matters where Agnew is listed on the depth chart. They have already created a page for plays for him in the playbook and I doubt they would just scrap that when it was so effective.

He'll get his touches regardless. Shouldn't be difficult to find him around 3 touches per game on offense. (2.5 per game in 2022)

Personally - I thought we'd see 3 or 4 touches per game in 2022 for Agnew.
That's what I was telling all of the fans calling for him to be a featured WR.
I figured he'd get 3 or 4 per and not be prominently featured.
He actually got less than that but still made meaningful contributions.
Pretty impressive, really.

It's possible the time off was good for his body.  But I agree.  I think he has a great year.  Not going to predict the yards total but if he stays healthy I think he goes over 1k

He will be the best route runner we've had in Jacksonville since Jimmy Smith. His highlights have been fun to watch.

I don't expect him to come in right away and dominate but by the time we get towards the end of this upcoming season it wouldn't shock me if he's "the guy" in the post season for Lawrence.

Totally agree.

I think we need to temper expectations for the start of the season but the second half of the season? Dude should be getting 12 targets a game.

Anyone else out there find it inconsistent that the NFL will suspend a player for gambling on games, and yet they start each game and overtimes with a player participating in a form of in-game gambling?
