He’s a good player. However, some said he could have played at the end of the ravens season and instead he decided to sit. A bit controversial there as play off opportunities are numbered for so many teams.

I can understand why he didn't play, from his perspective.  He's a running QB, and he had a leg injury.  Why risk his future for a team that isn't going to pay him what he wants?

That is correct. Running QB's are now to be referred to as "Passing quarterbacks with a non traditional tendency to use their superior mobility to their advantage".

A die hard Ravens fan told me he often misses wide open receivers.  If he was more accurate in the game against us last year, Baltimore would have won for certain.

He's still ducking the main questions. 

What does he value himself at? I get it. You can place yourself above the market value and what the market thinks. That's fine. Still want to know the number and why you think you're deserving of said number. 

How much guaranteed money is he seeking? 

Those are the two things holding this up at the moment. I really think his feelings are going to get hurt. I wouldn't be shocked if he goes without an offer and most of these teams in need of a QB draft their future starter. 

Clots have Minshew and can draft Richardson or Levis to challenge him. Tinhorns are rebuilding. They're committed to 5 years with Ryans. They'll get Bryce Young and roll with him for at least 3 years. Every other team that had a question mark at QB are pretty much in a situation that doesn't allow them to make a pair of 1st RD sacrifices in picks for a QB that's had a hard time staying healthy, won one play off game and needs an entire offense catered to his skillset. 

He's going to have to swallow his pride more than likely and make amends with the Ravens. Which I doubt. Or, he's going to have to get his ego in check, lower his personal value in a market that doesn't get dictated by him, and, probably settle for landing on a team nobody really expected. 

Like Tampa Bay or Atlanta. Two teams really not quite ready for play off contention.

He probably wants 240 million but he would be the stupidest man on Earth to not accept anything over 100 million. That’s fine, play on this tag and your while value goes down.

Baltimore made a mistake with Flacco’s contract and now they are cautious. I don’t blame them.

Ravens are gonna win this stare down imo. Either they net a couple firsts or he signs and plays on tag or he signs extension they believe he's worth.
His other options are sit or retire. Sitting puts him out of football and makes him look bad and they could just tag him again. In 2 or 3 seasons when the dance is done he's no longer the same force or young.

If I'm him I sign the tag and just play.
Then again if I was him I'd have an agent and not my mommy.

The Ravens don’t have a ton of guys running wide open. I live in Maryland and when you’re throwing to turds, they’re not wide open. Devin Duverney, Demarcus Robinson… come on now. Desean was their best WR down the stretch. 

Lamar also hit SEVERAL dudes right in the hands and they dropped it vs the Jags. I think it was Demarcus Robinson that dropped a TD in the end zone. This one below is from 2021 but point remains.

The fact remains that the Ravens have done very little to help Lamar in the passing game. Bills got Allen Diggs. Cards got Kyler Hopkins. Bengals got Burrow Chase. Eagles got Hurts AJ Brown. Jags got Lawrence Ridley. Ravens got Lamar…. Demarcus Robinson. They also ran an absolutely archaic offense but blamed it on Lamar saying he couldn’t run another offense.

So he demanded a trade? I guess he needs to read how the tag works or ask his agent .... haha. So is he admitting he isn't worth 2 1st round picks? Does he realize the trade value is already set and he could be on another team today if they actually offered a contract?


I see him sitting and not playing after he screws this up. He'll complain like another QB that walked away from a contract because they thought they were worth more and then was out of the league because no one will pay them enough.

The Ravens went 3-3 with Huntley as the QB. He was 2-3 as the starter, but played most of the Denver game so I'll include it. He had 5 total TD and 5 turnovers in those games. He had 2 total TDs in those games that they won.

In those 6 games they put up the following scores. 10 (win vs Broncos), 16 (win vs Steelers), 3 (loss vs Browns), 17 (win vs Falcons) 13 (loss vs Steelers) 17 (loss vs Bengals).

The Ravens were 7-4 with Lamar and they only scored less than 19 points once in those games with him at QB. One of those games they put up 38 points and still lost. He had 20 total TD and 9 turnovers.

The Defense played better when Lamar got hurt and that's what won them the games while he was out, but he has carried the majority of that team since hes been there.

The Ravens are 45-16 with Lamar as the QB. They are 9-15 without him. Dude has earned his money.

I really think the issue is both the contract and the 2 first round picks.

If there is any movement on this, I don't think it will be until after the draft when teams can give up 24 and 25 1st round picks instead of a 1st round pick this season.
